Description: Best ice cream and gelato in Toronto in a variety of flavors. The wonderfully made natural ice cream is the perfect solution to a hot day.

The Gelatto here is hands down the best in Toronto. So lucky to have this gem in my neighborhood of Leslieville. While we love the coconut, there is always many great flavors to choose from and friendly staff to serve you. Great place to stop 12 months of the year.

The Gelatto is excellent!!! We haven't had the ice cream YET but we will return. The service was rude, two young and very unhelpful teenage girls but I wouldn't let that stop you from enjoying this little Beach gem!

Some unusual flavor which can be nice surprises. Macaroon and Sweet Cream are my favorites. I also like the good choice of sorbet: lemon, pineapple, mango, raspberry...

Staff is nice, the place is a bit small, but nice location (next to the Fox where we go see some movies).

As it happened, we were staying a couple of blocks from Ed's and wandered up Queen Street to see what was around. With the weather unusually hot for September, it was no surprise to find that Ed's was jammed. A few people outside told us that this was a great place for ice cream and so we decided to try it. As you enter the small space, a freezer with gelato in a variety of flavors is facing you. Around to the right, where the line forms was another case filled with ice cream. Since we weren't in a rush, we looked them all over and were happy to find one of our all time favorite flavors in the gelato case - dark chocolate with chili peppers. When it was our turn to order, I asked how much a pint of the gelato would be. The answer - $7.50 was a welcome surprise. Most places charge a premium for gelato and buying containers (rather than a cup or cone) frequently results in a heavy duty up-charge. Not at Ed's. When we got back to the apartment where we were staying, we dug in. Terrific!!! I should also say that only the lack of decision-making ability from the customers slows the service at Ed's. The staff knows what they're doing and things move right along. There are a variety of cone types, toppings and cup sizes available so you can truly have it your way. Judging by the reactions we saw (as well as other reviewers) I have to say that if you are in The Beaches, by all means treat yourself to Ed's.

Wide range of ice cream and sorbets. Unusual flavours, and you can try before you buy (I had about 5 tastes, and they didn't complain!). Smallest size was good for kids and not-so-hungry adults. Little bench outside to watch the neighbourhood go by.
