Description: Baldini: a true Italian cuisine. A simple sub shop was bought and turned into a popular fine-dining restaurant, and since 2006 it has been an appealing addition to the Trendy Leslieville Gem. Baldini presents guests with a pan-regional selection of dishes from Northern and Southern Italy, along with home-made pastas, breads and sauces.Executive Chef Sal, the sole owner, with over 20 years of experience, ensures that ingredients are fresh from local markets and are prepared only in the finest Italian tradition to ensure the best possible flavour. Followed by homemade gnocchi and other savoury pastas, risotto, whole-wheat thin crust pizza, along with meat and seafood dishes; Baldini has a wide range of full-flavours of the herbs and spices, that creates the full-Italian experience.Gentle jazz sets the mood, as our diners unwind casually on the classic brick wall and the cozy dining atmosphere, enjoying their meals at the heart of the Leslieville Gem. Experience a rich selection of the best Italian wines, complemented by the soothing ambience along with our friendly staff, which makes your visit at Baldini, a memorable one!

Great food for value, cozy and warm, attentative and friendly service. Owner is main server and has an excellent memory for your favorites and makes one feel at home. Cheerful, never down and doesn't hover like other owner's might. Everyone I've sent loves it. Try their brunch pizza for a different sort of treat.

The quintesential neighbourhood restaurant.
Small, personal, owner operated.
The food is sensational, the service prompt, and it is busy enough on any given evening to be "Alive".
Very limited bar choices, but a decent wine list.,
Located in the rapidly gentrifying area of Leslieville on Queen Street East.

What a great little Italian restaurant. ! Was totally surprised by the service and friendliness of the staff. We were 4 and we all had 5 course meals. The food arrived on time and was prepared to perfection. Portions were sizable. Yes, the food is delicious. There wasn't a lick left on any plate. Very authentic, we could have been dinning in a restaurant in Lucca or Sienna.

We all will be back to Baldini's. Soon. Complimenti e bravo a Tony e Baldini.

My nephew (16 and a pescatarian) were out shopping in Leslieville and decided on spec to eat here. He had selected a margherita pizza based on the menu on the window. Unfortunately this was on the dinner menu but not the lunch menu. Before I had a chance to ask whether he could still get this pizza, he had opted for the salmon a la griglia. He was very happy with his choice. The salmon was served in a saffron cream sauce with wild mushroom risotto and perfectly cooked veggies. He ate every bite. This is a fairly picky kid. I was impressed. I had a pollo panini - also delicious - with side salad. When we arrived, we were the only ones present. Although the restaurant got busier (3 more tables, including one of 5 people arrived), the service was great. It was clear that at least 2 of the tables of people were regulars since they greeted the front of house man (presumably the owner) "Tony" by name. All in all, an unexpected treat. I would return without question.

We came upon this smaller restaurant (34 seats) late on a Friday. The food, service and atmosphere was great and reasonably priced. We will look it up again when next in the area.
