It was nostalgic to revisit a pub I once considered my second home over 25 years ago. What made it special then continues to make it so today: Great beer and great music. I still have the CD that I bought from a band that was visiting from Ireland back in early 90s playing traditional Irish tunes along with a few of their own. Some things have changed however as I don't ever recall poutine being served back then.

McVeigh's is not a hip modern bar with an Irish twist. What it is is your stereotypical "Irish pub" like you see in the movies. If you want to be transported back in time to an 80s Irish pub somewhere in Ireland this is the place to be. Seriously, this is what a pub should be like. As some would say "old school" or "real".

Ask for a Black and Tan!

Cheers!

McVeigh's is a great place to have a pint and a hot or cold lunch.

Such a gret departure from the ultra modern high priced Toronto establishments.

Nothing beats the chalkboard menu. Better order fast before you choice is gone.

The beer is always cold and the service vey friendly.

It is a prefect spot if you need a quick bite or want to stick around and enjoy your lunch.

I've been going to McVeigh's for years. It's one of the few family run pubs in the city. This is really an old school pub. If you're looking for fancy don't step in the place. Don't ask for coffee... It's not available. I like the real of the place. Real people and real food. Cheers to all my friends at McVeigh's.

Great place to watch football while celebrating American Thanksgiving in Toronto. Amazing selection of pub food not often found in such environs. Mandatory, Guinness, Murphy's and Jamesons. Try the Poutine along with your Lipitor. Marky the horse (Calgary Stampede mascot for the Grey Cup Stampeders) even visited and was given a bowl of Stout for his troubles ...and he drank it!

Very Irish feel to the restaurant and as expected to soccer match was on. The Guiness was nice and clean just like I remember from Dublin. Would visit again.
