Leslie Jones has been my go-to spot on Queen East for a year and a half. Small, cozy interior and excellent back patio cast beneath mature trees.
The owner is the in-house chef, dishing out a TRULY delicious menu from a very small/rustic, open-air kitchen...having view of the whole process adds a really neat/intimate flavour to the LJ experience. His wife bakes and delivers all the cakes and desserts for the place....carrot cake that cannot be beat!!
There's a record player beside the kitchen area feeding out an eclectic and warm repertoire, from the Talking Heads to Bob Dylan. Service is always extremely pleasant and efficient; heads up that the chef is a one-man army, so if you're in on a busy night (read: weekends), you can expect a longer wait on the food. Atmosphere is truly enjoyable however, the tunes, appetizers and signature drinks pass the time easily :)
