It is kinda hard to rate Ki. For atmosphere and great service there is no better place in Toronto (and in most other places). And their food is tasty, but not exceptional. But it is quite expensive - really not worth the price. So my recommendation is more the following.
If what you really care about is the "experience" and just good food is enough then I would definitely recommend this place to at least try once. The bar scene at Ki is maybe what it is most famous for.
If you think Ki is "upscale" Japanese then do not be fooled! For real "taste" (foodies) upscale then there is Sushi Kaji (but that is a multi-course chef menu that arguably is meaningfully more expensive than Ki). Ki is somewhere in between expensive (like Nami and Take) and really upscale (like Kaji) when it comes to price. For food quality in same league, but cheaper than Ki there is Nami.
My rating is based on my taste...and my concept that Ki lacks value if food is more important than atmosphere.
