Description: Scaramouche has long been celebrated by customers and critics for its unwavering commitment to making each dining experience a memorable one. Chef/owner Keith Froggett's sophisticated cuisine is presented simply with care and attention to detail. The service underscores that philosophy: unobtrusive and respectful. The restaurant affords a stunning nighttime vista of the downtown Toronto skyline. These components and more make Scaramouche the singular destination it is. And the reason that the restaurant is consistently ranked as one of the city's best for more than three decades.

Our evening at this renowned restaurant was most enjoyable. To begin with it was a beautiful sunny day and the view from the restaurant was spectacular. Everyone was courteous and helpful to all of us. Everyone enjoyed all aspects of their meal. Lamb, Chicken, Cod, and Cal's Liver received Mmmms of satisfaction and the coconut cream pie lived up to its legendary acclaim.
I look forward to another visit in the near future.

There is a reason why Scaramouche continues to be Toronto's Top Restaurant. Fabulous Food, Staff and Excellent Service. We were a party of 3 and loved every dish we had. The quality of the food and service are superb. The cuisine is creative and delicious and is served by professional and attentive staff. The oysters we ordered were amazing. For our main we all chose to have the liver and it was delicious and beautifully presented. The bread pudding for dessert was a great way to finish our meal. Our server, Sarah, was fantastic as was the Sommelier. Our server's attentive service and the Sommelier's helpful suggestions helped to make our dining experience a very special one. From the food to the staff this is one restaurant that does not disappoint. We look forward to our next dining experience at Scaramouche.

As this was our first time in Toronto, we did our research thoroughly, as we wanted to enjoy every meal as much as possible. Scaramouche, without a doubt, was included in almost every single list of “must visit” food places. However, having previously splurged on Michelin-starred type of restaurants during our recent visit to Europe, we decided to try the more informal sister restaurant, Scaramouche Pasta Bar instead.

Upon arriving, we noticed that the location was quite difficult to get to, especially for tourists with no cars. The interior and atmosphere inside was great! It was dimly-lit, vibrant, and cosy. Our servers were attentive and helpful, so all was off for a great start.

The only problem (and the biggest, most unfortunate problem) was the food! Having been hyped up by all the positive reviews, we were expecting a spectacular (or at least edible!) meal. Sadly, that was not the case at all.

The calamari was so-so, there was nothing special about it. My duck starter was simply horrible. The cold duck slices were chewy and tasteless, the duck pate was way too sweet and lacking flavours, and the whole dish was pretty much filled with preserved bits of veggies and baby gherkins, so that all that was left to taste was a weird combination of chewy duck, sweet pate, and sour cold veg.

Our main dishes didn’t improve things either. We order a pork ragu dish, which turned out to be sad, watery, flavourless, and uninteresting. And I had this pasta with peppercorn sauce and beef tenderloin that was very watery, bland, flavourless, and had this strange sweet taste to it.

We were pretty embarrassed that we had had to leave with all our plates 70% untouched. Quite frankly, we seriously failed to understand how anyone could possibly enjoy this food, let alone give rave reviews about it. It’s just simply beyond me.

Definitely would not return and will never tell anyone to go there!

I don’t know why anyone would rate this highly the food was awful!!!
My girlfriend got the pasta which was over cooked and bland. I asked for a medium rare steak which was almost well done and the waiter disappeared after delivering so I couldn’t tell him it was over cooked! So I just ate it. Other entree was seafood soup which was tasty. Wine list was great.
View of course is spectacular! Parking is challenging so valet park.

Two Paper Plane cocktails preceded Chestnut Ravioli for one of us and the spaghetti main for the other, along with the best and freshest oysters served in big city ambience. Scaramouche is Toronto's answer to the great restaurants in condos and businesses usually found in New York and Chicago. Skyline views, a nice mix of 30's to 70+'s all well dressed and enjoying themselves. The rooms have a nice buzz and the service staff are impeccable, friendly and helpful. Though one of Toronto's best, there is no intimidation and a thoroughly pleasant ambience greets the newcomer. It is this mix of fine food, great staff, ambience and superb pacing of a meal that keeps Scaramouche on the top of the charts.
