We've dined at Adega several times over the years, but have never had lunch there. On this occasion, we were taking a guest who worked at SicKids out for a meal and we had a tight timeline. Adega seemed like a good choice because of its proximity and our positive past experiences.

We advised our server of the time issue and he made several menu suggestions, although there was a bit of an edge concerning accomodating us.

We chose the sardines, the octopus, and the house cured gravalx, For dessert, we shared a poached pear. Our bill together with 2 coffee, a carbonated water, and two glasses of wine was $95.32 with taxes.

The room is very attractive and service was good. Our lunch was relatively leisurely, defintely not rushed, and we left the restaurant in excellent time.

We had eaten at Chiado a couple of evenings before, so comparions are inevitable. In fact, one of us had also ordered sardines and we had also shared a pear at Chiado.

Adega was very good and we would deffintely return, but it fell short of Chiado, which was spectacular!

Wonderful fish and seafood, perfectly prepared and served by knowledgable wait staff. Decent wines by the glass, or good selection of bottles. Great decor and not noisy. Highly recommended.

Didn't have a reservation and could not eat downstairs in the buzzing main room. The gracious hostess offered me a table in a room upstairs with a large group.
The 'old school' superior service was so refreshing. My server brilliantly suggested I order a carafe of wine since I was solo even though the wine list was world class. Was also offered a different sauce with my seafood pasta which was excellent. The Tiramisou was soggy and tired.
All was forgiven after my B52 coffee. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The mussels were excellent, as was the crab topped seafood bisque - highly recommend both.. Chorico sausage a little too salty and shrimps were nothing special, but the lobster risotto was also very good. Paired up with a surprisingly good Portuguese white wine Branca di Gaivosa, all in all a pleasant experience, with good service. They have a large dining table in the wine cellar for large groups.
