We've dined at Adega several times over the years, but have never had lunch there. On this occasion, we were taking a guest who worked at SicKids out for a meal and we had a tight timeline. Adega seemed like a good choice because of its proximity and our positive past experiences.
We advised our server of the time issue and he made several menu suggestions, although there was a bit of an edge concerning accomodating us.
We chose the sardines, the octopus, and the house cured gravalx, For dessert, we shared a poached pear. Our bill together with 2 coffee, a carbonated water, and two glasses of wine was $95.32 with taxes.
The room is very attractive and service was good. Our lunch was relatively leisurely, defintely not rushed, and we left the restaurant in excellent time.
We had eaten at Chiado a couple of evenings before, so comparions are inevitable. In fact, one of us had also ordered sardines and we had also shared a pear at Chiado.
Adega was very good and we would deffintely return, but it fell short of Chiado, which was spectacular!
