We have been at Tabule twice for supper with friends this year, and on both occasions, the restaurant delivered. It is a relatively small venue in midtown Toronto, and in the summer, a few tables are set out on the sidewalk. Inside the tables are pushed quite close to each other, and on a busy Saturday night the noise level can be excessive, making for difficult conversation.
All the usual middle eastern choices are on the menu, and everything is done very well, especially the grilled meats. I also liked the fallafel and humus.
The best feature about Tabule is the very reasonabe prices. The summerlicious $25 menu with appetizer, entree and dessert, plus belly dancer show at 9 pm Sat night was a bargain. Try to make it there for either winterlicious or summerlicious, and you will be treated to a true culinary experience at a ridiculous price. Still worthwhile visiting definitely at other times.
An excellent place to eat in expensive midtown Toronto. The service is also outstanding.
