Description: Scaramouche has long been celebrated by customers and critics for its unwavering commitment to making each dining experience a memorable one. Chef/owner Keith Froggett's sophisticated cuisine is presented simply with care and attention to detail. The service underscores that philosophy: unobtrusive and respectful. The restaurant affords a stunning nighttime vista of the downtown Toronto skyline. These components and more make Scaramouche the singular destination it is. And the reason that the restaurant is consistently ranked as one of the city's best for more than three decades.

“Taste has fallen”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

I have been here about 10 times over the last dozen years or so and was always pleased. Not this time.
The atmosphere is always wonderful and the room is very nice but the food? Well the ingredients are of the highest quality but the taste was not there on our latest visit (November 26). The amuse bouche was gravlax with celeriac. Ho hum.
The foie gras didn't have that wow flavor while the steak tartare was singularly bland.
Our mains, duck was OK but nothing special and the sea bass didn't stand out. The coconut cream pie tasted like something out of a New Jersey diner.
I think Chef Frogett needs to get back behind the stoves.
I don't think this restaurant, marketed as French, would last long in Vancouver or Montreal.

One of the best meals I have ever had, the venison was out of this world. Service, ambiance, food, everything is perfect! You can't go wrong here, thanks Scaramouche!

This has to be the best restaurant in Toronto hands down. Best food and service I've had in the city. All around excellence.

“Consistently excellent!”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

My husband and I ate here this week to celebrate a special time and as always it was a fabulous meal. The service is consistently top notch, the waiters exceptionally well trained and quietly attentive. The restaurant was full but you were not made to feel that the service had to be rushed so that the table could be turned. The food was mouth watering - do not miss the calamari appetizer and the coconut cream pie for desert (large enough for two people to share). If you enjoy liver, then eat it at Scaramouche because it can melt in your mouth. We always leave this restaurant feeling content and anticipating our next return.

“Great view, great service!”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

I took my girlfriend here for her bday and she loved it. 4 stars for the food and 5 for the service!
When i called to make the reservation i had told them it was her birthday and requested a window seat. The restaurant was able to accommodate a window table and also brought a happy birthday dessert platter with a candle during dessert.

Being from out of town, reading reviews that nyc food is way better than toronto, I was weary on how the food would be but Scaramouche delivered. Just note that it is about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Toronto.
