Description: Scaramouche has long been celebrated by customers and critics for its unwavering commitment to making each dining experience a memorable one. Chef/owner Keith Froggett's sophisticated cuisine is presented simply with care and attention to detail. The service underscores that philosophy: unobtrusive and respectful. The restaurant affords a stunning nighttime vista of the downtown Toronto skyline. These components and more make Scaramouche the singular destination it is. And the reason that the restaurant is consistently ranked as one of the city's best for more than three decades.

Toronto's idea of fine dining in the post-war period still has grace, charm and a lovely setting. Pricey, but excellent food and service.

We had the tasting menu, food was delicious, wine was great. Our server was very attentive, and made us feel welcome. Only thing is that it was alot of the "be seen" crowd. Still an excellent meal and will be back.

For sure, the best fine dining restaurant in Toronto. I had the best venison ever. The off menu oysters from prince Edwards island were just perfect. Every single dish ordered was loved by our friends: Quebec Foie gras, Octopus salad, yellow fin sashimi, Halibut, rack of lamb (amazing) and special river fish from Quebec. The coconut pie I a MUST and to die for! The lemon Poppy seed cake and Valrohna dark chocolate Délice were excellent. We loved the 'jesera' Pinot Grigio an 'Nautilus' white wines.

Like many in Toronto, my husband and I consider Scaramouche to be a "special occasion" place - most recently, to celebrate his birthday. We chose the Grill and Pasta Bar rather than the main restaurant, mainly because it is a little less formal and we had not previously tried it. Some of the items are the same as in the restaurant, but others are unique to the grill. There is also a very fine list of wines by the glass, which meant that we could have wildly different mains and match them with appropriate wines. I had grilled liver - perhaps better done here than anywhere - and my husband had excellent halibut. (As a general rule, we prefer fish, which is always perfectly executed here.) Our desserts - crème brulee and delice de chocolat - were also first class. One drawback to the grill is that the decibel level can be annoying - the room was packed, and we had some difficulty being able to hear the server at one point.
Scaramouche continues to have very fine kitchen staff, wait staff and front of the house and the service is notably superior to almost anywhere else in Toronto. This is a restaurant that is not trying to be anything other than a fine dining establishment - no specialty grocery store, house products (apart from the iconic coconut crème pie, which you can order to take out) and they take what they do seriously. At the same time, it is not stuffy either in attitude or cuisine - just high quality ingredients lovingly prepared appropriately for each season, thoughtfully presented. Complimentary valet parking makes it all easy.
