Description: Scaramouche has long been celebrated by customers and critics for its unwavering commitment to making each dining experience a memorable one. Chef/owner Keith Froggett's sophisticated cuisine is presented simply with care and attention to detail. The service underscores that philosophy: unobtrusive and respectful. The restaurant affords a stunning nighttime vista of the downtown Toronto skyline. These components and more make Scaramouche the singular destination it is. And the reason that the restaurant is consistently ranked as one of the city's best for more than three decades.

This was our first visit and it was amazing from start to finish including valet parking. The restaurant is located in an apartment building and once enters you will find it opens onto a wonderful view of downtown Toronto.
The food is very well prepared. We started with the "Truffled Gnocchi Parisienne" & " Foie Gras Terrine". The foie gras comes in generous portion and melted in my mouth. The Truffled Gnocchi was very tasty.

Our main dish, we choose: " Sea Scallops ‘Bourguignonne" & the chef choice "6 oz beef fillet". The scallops were cooked to perfection and the chef special is as very well prepared. Both were heavenly.

For dessert we shared the Coconut Cream Pie and too bad you can only buy a whole pie if you ordered 24 hrs in advance. We would have took a whole pie home.

The service was outstanding in every respect from the start to the end. All in all, a truly awesome dinner experience. May considered as expensive but worth absolutely every penny for special occasion .....a definite repeat!

We went to celebrate a newly engaged couple. The food was perfect. We requested that we move to a different location, they supported fully. They must have changed our forks 6 times. Would definitely recommend it, would definitely go again. Can't go wrong with this place, bear in mind you will be paying for this quality :) enjoy.

Scaramouche must rank among the three or four best restaurants in the GTA, and it does not suffer in comparison with several Michelin three-star restaurants we have visited. From the appetizers to the desserts everything was up to our high expectations. (We had not been there for several years but had fond memories of the food and the view over downtown Toronto.) My wife had the three goat cheeses appetizer; I had the duck pastrami. Our mains were lobster, inspired by Lobster Thermidor, and venison loin. We shared a cheese platter, with four cheeses from Quebec and France, and had a dessert each, pear tart in my wife's case and chocolate ganache in mine. The food was excellent! The wines -- we drank by the glass -- were also fine. The only slightly sour note was some confusion about a second glass of Shiraz, for which I was kept waiting for some minutes until an apologetic server appeared, saying that because of the wait the glass was on the house. All in all, it was the perfect anniversary dinner!

If you have a date that you want to lavish...bring them here! The food is masterfully prepared, waiters are on top of everything and there is a sommellier (wine expert) to assist in perfect pairing. The window seats have a breath taking view of the CN tower and harbor front from afar. This is definitely a pricey experience, but if you can afford it, well worth it.

We chose Scaramouche for our annual Birthday dinner expecting a dining experience at least on par with home cooking, after all one should not cook on ones birthday!

The service is excellent, and we did not have to do the dishes, but the food was less than perfect and for the rating Scaramouche is trying to keep it should be!

I had the pasta as an apetizer and it was bland and the mushrooms were more akin to rubber than anything else. And for a main course the Scallops, again not as much like rubber as the the pasta but not excellent either!

In spite of everything we managed to have a good time, but we will not have it on our go to list unless we hear that it has gotten much better.

Perhaps our standards are too high.
