I selected Portico based on reviews on TA, as our one dinner in Toronto. I was underwhelmed because my expectations were higher from reading all the outstanding reviews. I feel like this place has SO many positive reviews because its in a hotel, and it's definitely much better than you'd expect from a restaurant in a hotel. The food was very good, but portions were small. Service was satisfactory, but we were surprised it was not very crowded on a Saturday night (not even half full at 8pm) which I guess hurt our overall impression. I would have preferred to be at a packed restaurant with better ambiance for our "one dinner" in this city. I guess I'd say make it part of your trip if you have a few days at least, but don't expect it to be the major highlight.
