“Thank You Pravda!”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

Dear Pravda Staff,

Sometimes traveling alone sucks. But on a recent solo business trip to Toronto, I was able to enjoy the nightlife because the staff at Pravda were so friendly and great. Below are some tips for your guests:

- If possible, participate in a vodka tasting. These guys really know their stuff
- Food is very good. I had the rack of lamb and a few other things I've since forgotten, but all very good. Those who say the food is expensive are right, but its a nice part of a nice city so its to be expected
- Cocktails are all very well made
- Night time is also fun (in my case, extremely fun). Meet/dance with other 20 / 30 somethings or just chat with the staff at the bar - they are all great

Finally - who gets a thank you note from a bar/restaurant? These guys are clearly special.

Love,
Brian

The decor is amazing, food is really good but a little expensive for the portions you get. Was there on weekend, it get get very busy, so reservation is a must!

“If you're nostalgic for the 1930's Soviet look...”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Interesting place we came across... Hammers and Sickles and Lenin all over the place in a Red, Yellow, Black/Gold ambiance.. Thought you walked in to commissar's private club in the late 40's.. Bit of a eclectic crowd of young hip folks, peppered with older gentlemen in suits.. Vodka selection is great, a bit pricy but service was great...

Strange music though - DJ was playing upstairs, but he was supplemented with a trumpet player, snare drummer and a guy with a gourd drum on his side... never saw a back up music group to a dj... must have been soviet invention.

“What a fun time, great vodkas and food!”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

I've been to this establishment a few times, basically every time I'm in Toronto I go. I love the décor, being from former Soviet Union, it's nice to see all the memorabilia and thematic rooms and menu. A couple of times I got the VIP room downstairs, the one with the "bear skins". It was great, the vodka sampler is a great idea - 3 different vodka shots served ice cold from the freezer (the way it should be), rye bread and amazing pickles, all for under $20. On the weekends the music played by the DJ is accompanied by live instruments - saxophone, drums, violin. The food is also very good and unique!
Give this place a try, I was pleasantly surprised and will keep coming back!
