“If you like frozen, uncooked food...”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

The experience for dinner at Pi-Toms had to be amongst the worst I have ever had. The service was atrocious, beginning with a long wait just to get the menus then to order. Once our order had been placed, a simple order of pad Thai, veggie spring rolls and a pineapple cashew salad, the fun really began. When the spring rolls arrived they were still frozen inside...the first sign of how good the rest was going to be. When the pad Thai arrived the rice noddles were still crunchy as they were uncooked. Finally the salad was missing the cashews and the cilantro and only had pineapple and red onion. All of this became quite comical and suffice to say we laughed it off but given we were only one of three tables in the whole restaurant, the level of cooking and service was unacceptable. As there are many great Thai restaurants in Toronto, I recommend anywhere but here!

“Delicious fresh Thai”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

Just had a really lovely meal at Pi Tom. Our meals were all freshly cooked with lovely fresh vegetables. Lovely thai flavours, maybe could have had a bit more chilli.
The tables are quite basic, but the food and the service was excellent - and they definitely had their liquor licence.
I would definitely return here for more.

“Thai favourite”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

I visited Pi Toms tonight. Traditional Thai food in a quiet setting off Yonge St. Loved the chicken fried rice with chinese broccoli. It has a nice salad with red peppers and lettuce. I appreciate the veggie additions. Nice dinner. Food is always tasty here, as I have come several times over the years.

“Convenient, excellent Thai food”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

We opted for dinner at Pi Tom's because it was right next to our hotel, and we were dog tired. The place has a certain faded charm, with Thai nick-nacks dotted about. We were seated and served promptly. One minor disappointment is that the place seems to have lost its liquor licence, so even though you can see beer taps on the bar, these are sadly not an option. We ordered chicken satay and spring rolls for starters: the chicken satay was delicious, but this must be the only Thai restaurant I've ever been to that served them without peanut dipping sauce! No matter, I asked for some, and it was swiftly delivered. The spring rolls sadly were inedible; hot on the outside but stone cold on the inside.

For mains we had the 'authentic' pad thai (apparently the local variant has ketchup in) which comes as a giant crepe-covered hemisphere and was absolutely delicious. My partner had the green vegetable curry, which was very tasty.

All in all, pretty decent food at a good price, but give the spring rolls a miss.
