it's been a while since i've stopped by pi-tom's for a great thai meal. i have a tendancy to eat on church street, but glad that i walked west on alexander!
i had the lemongrass sprimp! YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM! it was so tasty and the spices not too hot. a nice mixture of carrots, leamongrass, red and green peppers and onions topped by a good number of sprimp. and a large bowl of rice unto which to add the shrimp and vegetable mixture! a large, very tasty meal.
unfortunately their site is scheduled to be torn down in the future and a 60 store condo is going to be built there. here's hoping i'll still be able to drop by for a good while for a great meal - hopefully for a couple of more years at least.
and with the temperature 20c it was so pleasant to eat on the patio.

“Good deal”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

The two of us were alone in the restaurant on a Tuesday evening. We started with the appetizer platter which was a bit bland, except for the satays. The server was attentive and was very careful when we mentioned a seafood allergy. We shared some peanut chiken with green beens which was quite tasty as well as a tamarind beef that was truly appreciated. No need to order rice as it comes with each plate. Attentive service.

“Good Thai Cusine...”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Everyone I recommended to go to this place had nothing but good to respond. I always make it a point to stop there on my stays in the area during the year.

“The WORST food EVER”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

This was definitely not authentic Thai cuisine and the worst food ever. As a starter, we had Thai cold rolls which were OK but pretty flavorless. We then had two tofu dishes, one with ginger the other one with lemongrass. There is only one word to be said: Yuck. Greasy, bland, cold, definitely not fresh. Both dishes tasted like cheap Chinese fast food. Moreover, both starter and main dishes were brought at the same time, although we ordered them specifically as starter and main dishes. The tofu was cold, and when I notified the waitress, she asked whether she should warm it up in the microwave! I can only recommend to stay away from this place.

“Jarvis St. Location not great”
Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I used a Groupon at the Pi-Tom's location on Jarvis Street over the holidays, and we were fairly disappointed. The restaurant smelled of stale cigarette smoke (not sure how this is possible given smoking in restaurants is illegal). The service was good, but that is likely due to the fact that we were the only ones in the restaurant at dinner time. As for the food, it was not great. The tofu in the vegetarian coconut soup was deep fried past the point of recognition. The lemongrass chicken tasted more like a Chinese soya-based sauce, and the use of fish sauce was a bit heavy as well. The beef panang curry was the best dish we had, but even it didn't really delight us. The mango salad was underwhelming: messily chopped vegetables and over-ripe mangoes, and very heavy use of sauce.

Wouldn't return even if we had another coupon.
