The best part about this restaurant is the food...then the service. It's great. It's a small restaurant and attracts a neighbourhood crowd. Perfect for having a nice quiet dinner. Obviously the veal parmigiana is the best menu option, but they also have quite a variety of specials that change each day. Mostly they are seafood but done really well. Their parmigiano special drink (for after dinner) is very delicious! Highly recommend. We are now regulars here. Dinner for 2 was $100 with wine.

Great seafood special with lobster. My husband, a veal parmigiana lover, says it's one of the best he's had!

Moving into the neighbourhood of this restaurant, my wife and I have eaten here twice over the past month. On both occasions we were given a warm welcome. Here is a congenial restaurant where the average diner is over 60 years of age, tending to wear blue sweaters and corduroy pants. The woman--like most of the men--have gray hair. Children and grandchildren are present in this restaurant that hit its high note somewhere around 1987. Today, the menu is affordable and diverse. The ingredients are fresh and the food is prepared with care.

The food was competent, but in general, a bit too oily. Their signature grilled fish was killed with the butter and oil. Roasted potatoes were roasted in butter and I never knew that is was actually possible to overcook potatoes. The risotto used fresh ingredients but far too much substandard olive oil. The greasy approach to cooking might be attributed to the fact that most of the clientele are beginning to have trouble swallowing and are perhaps more accustomed to the food served at the buffet bar on Caribbean Cruise ships. Salads are cold and fresh. The desserts are simple, yet tasty--both the tiramisu and creme caramel are lovely, and again, very easy to swallow. They are plated just like they were in the 1980s.

A big problem is with the service which left us hanging on both occasions. Never mind the fact that we were given a table by the door when I reserved a day in advance, while walk-ins (regulars?) were given much better seating arrangements. (On our first occassion, we were seated so close to the bar and kitchen that I was nearly asked to manage the cash register.) More coffee at the end of the meal? Nobody was around, Where's the bill? I had to go up to the cash to settle the account.

This is obviously a neighbourhood favourite that is heavily tolerated by the clientele who haven't noticed that this restaurant has likely slipped a few notches from its heyday 25 years ago.

Nice, friendly place in the neighborhood. Staff are long term and attentive. Food is pretty good and reliable. It's 2 blocks from home, thus a good standby for comfort food. Well priced.

I have eaten at Parmigiano several times over the past few years, sometimes with friends and most recently alone. The quality and presentation of the food is consisitently excellent. Service is friendly and attentive. The wine list contains a good selection of reasonably priced Italian wines. I think it would be hard to find a better Italian meal for the price. The only down side(and it is a minor one) is that parking can be difficult at times.

Highly recommended.
