True authentic FRESH food. Started decades ago as Mrs Matino's little store and grew into what it is today.
Still family run. Bruno, sister Clem and the rest are Sweethearts! You'll feel at home is and understatement.

My husband and his family grew up in the neighbourhood and it is still their and my Go To for every special occasion.

The Christmas and Halloween displays are spectacular!

You may even run into Leafs hockey players.

Her son Bruno still runs it. His sister Clem is a doll.

Food is amazing and unbelievably affordable. NOT a run of the mill over commercialized restaurant like others.

A true treasure in Toronto

This restaurant is a sorry excuse for a restaurant. It was great 25 years ago, but in the last decade , and especially in the last year or so, has become nothing but a cash grab by the owners . It's time to close down and stop ripping off unknowing customers.....enough said !

If you are ever feeling lonely and need to boost your spirits, and happen to be very hungry as well, this is the place for you. Basic Italian dishes served in a homestyle, hopping, family-friendly atmosphere. Be prepared to wait in line to be seated as this family owned and run place is always full to capacity but the line moves quickly and the people-watching is part of the experience. Good food, large portions, great prices, great atmosphere. Sometimes the service leaves something to be desired but forgiven because this place is fun!

I had eaten there twice before with a friend, and except for the long line up and cramped area where the line up was, and the no-reservation policy which was annoying, found the food generous in portion, nothing to complain about and very reasonably priced. This time I was not impressed at all. I went with my husband. We arrived to see some free tables and no line up. Although there were other free and larger tables with none being reserved, yet we were placed right near the kitchen at a very small table for two,. This table appeared to have been carelessly added to the room without any concern nor care for the guests. Cardboard boxes surrounded me and bottles of wine were stored right beside me in a cabinet about 2 inches away. The area where the table was, was not a proper spot for a table. I felt insulted that they would seat anyone there except a worker that was on a break, let alone a well dressed older couple. Things were plunked on our table as if there was no one sitting there, no words spoken, not a glance at us. Everyone we came in contact with seemed like they did not want to greet guests nor pay any attention to guests at all, like they were just putting up with an annoying job. I don't know what is going on there, but something has changed. The people running this restaurant seemed bored to death with the job, or even worse, annoyed at the customers who they have not even interacted yet with.
