“Limited menu”
Reviewed September 16, 2012 via mobile

I went there for an evening meal with my wife, we picked the restaurant by chance.
We noticed a horrible smell at the entrance as we walked in, it smelled like a kennel... But then as you go in, the smell goes away.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Although the menu was extremely limited, the food tasted good and the portions were ample.
We were offered two types of olive oil to taste with the bread before we ordered our food, the olive oil was excellent, we ended up buying some.
We would probably not go again for a meal, but buying more olive oil is an option.

“Just like Italy!”
Reviewed August 21, 2012 via mobile

We've been going to grano for manyany years and have never had a bad meal there! The food is always fresh the service outstanding and the atmosphere feels like you could be in Italy! Roberto and his team do it right every time. I wouldn't bother with the not so pleasant reviews. Overt 100 meals at grano and everyone perfect! We've eaten all over the world, including Italy. You can't beat this place! It's our old standby for great food and service! Can't wait to go back again!

“HORRIBLY OVERPRICED !!!!”
Reviewed April 28, 2012

Mushy bland pasta and skimpy green salad, watery tasteless soup, very small portions, and dessert that tasted like melted icky sugar all for almost $100 buckaroos for 2 people. We had no alchoholic drinks. What a waste. The wait staff seemed annoyed when we asked questions. It was an embarrassing evening because we took our dearest friend there for their Birthday. Won't go there and neither should you.

“Disappointing service. Small portions. Not worth the money.”
Reviewed January 10, 2012

We went last Saturday night to Grano after making a phone reservation with my girlfriend and a friend.
After we were politely greeted, we were shown our table. When we ordered the food, we asked a few question about the content of some meals since we had some food allergies, the waiter seemed bothered by our questions and tried to answer quickly and was just trying to finalize the order (it was NOT a busy night).
Menu: Very limited choice of options. NO Pizza, very limited options of pasta.
Food: small portions (even after asking the large size plate). Food taste was fine.
Service: Very disappointing, rude unwelcoming staff. Nobody asked how the food was.
Overall, expensive (for what it is $75 for a soup, salad and a main, with two wine glasses of $10 each.). I will likely not visit this place ever again.

“Tired antipasti, tasteless entrees”
Reviewed October 6, 2011

There has to be serious decline in this busy, long established Italian restaurant when service is indifferent and both of us had classic pasta dishes that were dereft of flavour. Antipasti on display were ordinary and uninteresting. I have no desire to return.
