So OK, we had a jet lag arriving at the Grasslands, however, the waitress made us forget that the minute we entered. Enthusiastic and vivid she guided us through the menu.
The food was really OK, plenty too, but no big surprises for a vegan restaurant. However, you should drop by if your hungry and up for a good bite!

I really want to love this restaurant as I am vegan and love the menu and upscale style that is offered but unfortunately after going for dinner twice here I am disappointed. We ha crazy long wait times for food, cool entries, average service and no one once apologized or made mention how long we had waited. I understand a busy night but waiting nearly an hour for an appetizer shouldn't happen. The sides that come with the entrees are so tasty but both main parts I found very average. The "steak" was over cooked, almost unbeatable and the breaded tofu tasted like the breaded mixture deep fried - so plain. Overall the service was average, wait times were crazy, and lack of updating etc was frustrating. Won't be back

Nicely decorated (though not clearly marked) vegan restaurant in Toronto's changing West Queen West neighborhood. Friendly and hands on staff, good menu and ditto drinks list. We had nice mushroom crisps and a delicious seitan steak; the burger was quite average. Nice place.

First time visiting the restaurant. Tried the tempeh and it was awesome! Service was great. Food was well presented, hot and simply delicious. The restaurant is clean and upscale-not the usual for a vegan eatery. I would highly recommend this restaurant for vegans and non vegans alike.

It may have been the burnt portabello. Or the waitstaff too busy laughing in the kitchen to care about anything. Or the 27 typos on the menu. Bad ones that according to the waitress, "the owner doesn't really care about". I really miss Fressen. They could have just upped the prices. Now we have expensive pretentious bad food. Queen Street deserves better than this. (PS. "Reservations accepted" is factually incorrect. You leave your name on a voicemail box that doesn't get checked."
