“Good sushi but pricey.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2014

Really enjoyed the sushi. It was fresh and tasty albeit a bit pricey. Service was lacking but overall a good experience. Place emptied out by 11:00pm. Was there on a Friday night and was surprised that the atmosphere dies out so early for a downtown restaurant.

“Good Japanese food but over priced.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

The food at Edo-ko is very good. Their gyoza are the best I've had. Maki rolls and dinners are consistently fresh and delicious. My only criticisms are as follows: the food is a little over priced which may be refective of the neighbourhood, there are fruit flies everywhere especially if you are seated at the back of the restaurant, and sometimes a faint odor of sewage wafts up from the basement where the washrooms are located, again, more obvious when seated at the back of the restuarant. You pay fine dining prices for not so fine ambiance.

“Always Fresh and Always Great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2012

We have rarely been disappointed having sushi here. Phil, the server is friendly and hospitable. The spicy tuna sashimi as an appetizer is very good, but ask them to spice it up a bit. The dynamite rolls are always a hit too.

Recently, they have cut back a bit on the size of their portions, which is kind of disappointing. I would rather they raise their prices 10-15% versus cutting the sashimi sizes down by 25%. This was a conscious decision the management there made, but I think it was not a good one for the customer value side.

We will keep comic here, but now have to order an additional dish to compensate.

“As good as Edo, it's sister restaurant, but cosier and better for intimate dinners”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2011

I just wrote about EDO, how good the food was, the decor was, etc. This restaurant is the same. Wonderful food, wonderful service, very posh surroundings and decor, but more intimate than EDO, and brighter. Well worth a visit.
