“Excellent pub, fantastic patio”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

My husband and I stopped in here last Thursday night. The pub is in an old Victorian-style house, so it is charming and full of character. My husband was in heaven with the menu - Prime rib, yorkshires, steak, burgers - perfect. He ordered the prime rib sandwich and I had the fun basket sampler with deep fried pickles (which were my favourite in Toronto), samosas (which were perfectly spicy and crispy) and a mini sirloin burger with fries - all for $17. Their patio is also really lovely - large with a mix of seating arrangements. I love this neighbourhood and we love this pub!

“Reliably good and changing menu”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

Great pub with lots of booths and yummy food - and they change up the menu fairly regularly as well as offering daily specials

“It's a pub”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

A big pub with a patio, a couple of floors, friendly wait staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The food is pretty decent pub style fare, with curries, burgers, etc to be enjoyed. You get every kind of people here from students and profs nearby, birthday and work group gatherings, to walking from the Annex area, all looking to get their drink on.

“Love it...place to be!”
Reviewed February 17, 2014 via mobile

Toronto's oldest British pub. Great food...fish n chips are amazing and served English-style in newspaper and all. Half price bottles of wine from 11:00 - 4:00 every day. Great patios in the summer. Awesome staff. Make you feel at home.

“Not for eating”
Reviewed February 12, 2014

This place has a cosy atmosphere but they keep upping the prices to ridiculous for below average food. We were hungry while having a few beers and decided to order in spite of the absurd prices, $20 for nachos, $8 for fries? A mistake; cold, flavourless and small portions to top it off after all that money spent. Having to state online that you clean your lines is not very reassuring. Too bad the owners of this chain don't taste their own food to improve on taste and lower the prices to encourage people to order.
