Our party of five was quickly seated at a comfortable table with chairs. Booths are also available. Our waiter, Kenny was terrific: knew the menu and specials well, recommended several good wines, was efficient, friendly and helped make our experience even more satisfying. All our orders were deliviered hot and in a timely but not rushed manner. The appetizers (three choices) were delicious and several quite unusual e.g. wonton nachos. Our mains were presented as ordered, medium-rare and medium done beef, all tender, juicy and guaranteed not from XLFoods in Alberta. The menu offered a variety of meats, fish and pasta to please differing tastes. Sides included baked, French fried or mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables. We ordered the pecan pie and Boston cream pie for dessert. The pies are actually large, individual tarts, suitable for sharing and were a tasty finish to an excellent dinner. The atmosphere is casual, suitable for groups, looking for a place to have fun while enjoying excellently prepared food. Close to the Intercontinental Hotel and many others on Front, King Streets and near the Convention Centre.

Located weest of University Avenue on Front Street, Canyon Creek is a great place to go for either lunch or dinner. It's a chain (operated by the same people who own Jack Astor's which is also nearby) but the ambiance suggests that it's a high-end steakhouse. The menu features steak, prime rib and seafood,. I've never had a bad meal here - everything is prepared just right. Walking into Canyon Creek is like descending into a very dark cave, the lighting is very subdued and it takes a while to get used to. However, the quality of the food and service is excellent.

This was my very first visit. It was recommended to me by a co-worker/friend. The meal was delicious and the service was spot on. The atmosphere was great although a little dark. They had a great prefixed menu that i ordered from and the meal was great. My friend and i walked there from our hotel, the location is convenient and it was easy to find.

Located just west of University Avenue on Front Street, Canyon Creek is well located for a business lunch or for visitors in downtown Toronto (it's mere minutes from the Rogers Centre and the Air Canada Centre). The dark, richly paneled basement space feels eerily similar to an old gentleman's club. Unfortunately, the food is somewhat hit and miss. My dining partner thoroughly enjoyed the steak soup - he claims he will be making a return trip to have it again. I went with the grilled halibut daily special. It sounded and even looked great. However, it was soaked with salt which was most off-putting. Not sure if I will return and if I do I'll probably stick to the menu mainstays - steaks (though I can't vouch for their quality).
