Visited the King Eddy for a trade show and had breakfast at Victoria's. Service is what you would expect at such a "proper British" restaurant, courteous and prompt! Food was good (muffins and croissants were a little dry), coffee was fantastic!!! (4 cups for breakfast...good!)

The Sunday Brunch is very nice. The staff was courteous and attentive to a point. Unfortunately, they seem to be too few and always appeared rushed. A few more wait staff would help. The main room is very nice to look at but try to sit in the smaller room as it is away from the buffet and much quieter.

I really love the King Edward Hotel which the Victoria Restaurant is situated in. I had lunch with a few friends and the food and presentation and staff were excellent. I must say that I was disappointed in the decor of the room. It has green walls and was very simple (a little to simple). I expected something a little more Victorian with beautiful wallpaper, chandeleirs, flowers, etc.

I am a big fan of the very conversational get-together we call afternoon tea. So, knowing that some people rave about Tea at the period King Edward, I decided to try it out. I had been for the there in a lovely lofty-ceilinged room about 4 or 5 years ago but this has changed. I booked the tea for my friends and was sorely disappointed. The team is served on one side of the lobby. 0 for ambiance. They have custom blended teas and the tea selection box which hold a bit of each type for you to smell is a very nice touch. The tea included the standard fare... sandwiches/ savories, scones and cream, pastries. The scones were memorably fresh... the rest was average. The service was average.

So much for the tea everyone loves! I prefer the teas at Windsor Arms and the Royal York (though they have now made chances to their once perfect tea @ Epic!)
