Description: Family owned Italian/Continental fusion restaurant. We have been a staple in the Yonge and Wellesley community for the past 13 years. Just recently we underwent a major renovation courtesy of the TV show Restaurant Takover on the Food Network. Ambiance is elegant and classy without being pretentious or stuck up. Our exceptionally-trained staff provide our guests with fast and efficient service while ensuring they feel relaxed and comfortable, never rushed. But most importantly, they make sure our guests feel welcome in our home.

Service was great. Food was very delicious. Pop was very flat and did not have any other non alcoholic beverage than tap water

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Always great to hear from our guests!

Happy to hear you enjoyed the food and the service but my apologies the pop was flat. I should mention though, we do offer a number of non-alcoholic drinks not available on the fountain gun including mango juice, orange juice, smoothies, coffee, tea (a blend of different variations), cappuccinos, latte's, milk, chocolate milk, and more. Our apologies the server did not bring this to your attention.

Thanks again for taking the time to write a review. Hope to see you again soon and provide you with a pop that includes lots of fizz ;)

“Good food, friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2014

Went to Brownstone on a Saturday before a show at the Panasonic Theatre. Made a reservation, our table was ready on time. We all enjoyed our food, however the pitchers or Sangria tasted like they were missing one key ingredient...the wine. Other than that we enjoyed our evening.

Hi,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We always value our guests feedback. Without hearing from you, how would we know where we could improve?

That's terrific to hear you enjoyed your meal. We pride ourselves on providing guests a great meal prior to the show, while still ensuring they have plenty of time to relax and take their time. Good thinking making a reservation in advance to ensure you get a table promptly as you may have noticed the restaurant fills up fairly quickly on theatre nights.

Our apologies about the sangria. We typically put a glass of wine in each pitcher, in addition to a number of different liqueurs which blend with the flavours of the juices. There is always the option of adding an extra glass should you like your sangria a little more "boozy". But regardless, thank you for bringing that to our attention.

Thanks again for the review. Hope you enjoyed the show at the Panasonic and maybe we will see you the next time there is a show in the area!

“Tasty and Interesting Dishes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2014

We visited the Brownstone Bistro on a Tuesday night. We were seated immediately on arriving. The decor was nice with a bricked wall and modern artwork. The tables lacking tablecloths however were ones that are found in a fast food stop and gives a first impression of a cafeteria style restaurant. The food all looked and smelled great and was priced comparible to a better quality restaurant. The presentation on many dishes was food piled high in the centre of the plate. I had the Portabello mushrooms stuffed with goat cheese which came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Because everything is piled high ontop of each other it was difficult to see the mushrooms but it was absolutely delicious. The seafood Risotto also looked tempting and I would return again to try that dish. The restaurant was busy with steady customers and most tables were occupied throughout our stay. Customers appeared to enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the Brownstone while they enjoyed their tasy dishes.

Hi,

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. We always enjoy hearing from our guests!

That's terrific to hear you enjoyed the food quality and found the portions to be fairly generous. We pride ourselves on providing our guests a great value for their dollar.

Thank you for your honesty in regards to the tables as well. Perhaps this is something we will need to look in to the next time we decide to perform a renovation. Either way, we appreciate your input on the matter.

Thanks again for the review. Hope to see you again soon. All the best!

“Great food and staff at Brownstone Bistro”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Recently hit the patio at the Brownstone Bistro when friends were visiting Toronto from Ottawa. We all loved it! It was a nice day, so we sat on the patio on Gloucester Street. The staff were attentive without being in your face all the time. Also very efficient and friendly. The food was first rate. A beet and goat cheese salad shared by the Ottawa visitors was deemed perfect. I had an Italian sausage omelet which came with home friends, some nice cut fruit (melon, kiwi, strawberries) and a small amount of greens. One diner had a beer from the excellent list and we all had coffee. Compliments on the coffee also...not the usual bistro swell but a really satisfying cup of java. My Ottawa pals went again the next day and took other Toronto friends. In a word -- success! Will go back again as soon as I get the chance. It's agreat late brekkie or brunch spot. I almost went for one of the daily luncheon specials -- lobster ravioli. But I already was craving an omelet.

Hi,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We always love hearing from our guests, regardless if it's positive or negative (but secretly, we like hearing the positive reviews more, hah).

That's great to hear you were able to enjoy your brunch on the patio. As you may have noticed, on beautiful summer days the patio tends to fill up fairly quickly so I'm happy to see you were able to nab a spot out there while visiting.

Thanks again for the terrific review. Hope to see you again soon. All the best!

“Theatre and Dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2014

Well just back home again after a great Ontario visit with family and friends. Once again a highlight of our trip was a visit to the Brownstone and a great night at the Panonsonic theatre close by,what a great combination for good night out. Brownstone never disapoints us with there food and fast and efficient service. We both enjoyed a steak dinner, mouth watering, well priced and it was served up with a great style and friendly service, enjoyed a galss of wine and then off to the show with lots of time to spare. Brownstone will always be on our list of Where to go in Toronto!

Hi,

Thanks for the terrific review. We always appreciate it when our guests take time out of their busy lives to write a review on the Brownstone.

So pleased to hear you enjoyed another experience at the Brownstone. We work incredibly hard to ensure our food and service remains consistently good. There is nothing more frustrating than having a great experience at a restaurant, bragging about it to friends, and returning only to be disappointed. I cannot tell you how happy I am to see that was not the case and in fact, has never been the case for you :)

Thanks again for the terrific review. Hope you can make it out again during the summer so you can take advantage of the patio. All the best!
