Ambiance is not so great but peaceful. Service was good and food quality is above average. I will rate it as an average restra. Must try brownie with vanilla ice cream and their samosas :)

“Delighted to return here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2014

Some years ago a friend invited me to spend New Year's Eve at this refined, traditional Indian spot. It was a great evening. The warm welcome and the outstanding holiday buffet were matched only by the great service and the twinkling colored lights.

Now, some years later, I happened to pass by the restaurant, and, remembering that special evening, I went in again, accompanied by the friend who was with me. The welcome was just as sincere, and the servers' manners were polished to the highest level.

The decor is especially attractive in the evening, when the cornices throughout the restaurant are lit up; they hold lovely little objects that evoke the feeling of India.

We had the beautifully spiced lentil soup and garlic nan, a speciality of the house, followed by eggplant, fragrant rice and butter chicken. It was obvious that our food had been cooked to order as it was incredibly fresh.

Masala tea followed, and, as a very nice touch, our bill was presented in an ornate silver box. A sense of graciousness pervaded the evening, and I will certainly return and bring other friends to share this lovely experience.

“Looking a bit old and dated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2014

We tried the lunch buffet last week, and it was okay. This was one of the first Indian restaurants I had been to in Toronto, many years ago. The decor does not appear to have changed. I understand that the buffet lunch price is on par for the area, but I didn't find the food to be anything special. The tandoori chicken and naan were good, but nothing else stood out. I could get better food minutes away in Little India on Gerrard Street East.

“Good food and even better service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2014

We were in Toronto for four days and visited the place 6 times. The food was excellent esp the butter chicken and mutton curry. Buffets are worth the money.
The Chef Rajiv was very courteous not just with the service but the recommendations on what to do in and around the city. We had a very bitter experience staying at the Holiday Inn across the street but the good meal really helped alleviate the stress. Everything was very tasty.

Will definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for some tasty Indian food while in Toronto. Do check the timings as most of the places in Toronto close quite early 9.30 - 10.00 PM. From where we come that's quite early.
