Several weeks ago we happened to be at Woodbine beach and as it was hot, fancied a nice cold beer, we had been here before, and the service was lousy and in such a fantastic location.
Well our need for a beer was stronger then recalling the lousy service the previous year, well we decided on a bottle of chilled wine, which was a niagara wine we had never tasted before, the price was reasonable and were surprised at how nice it tasted. they have been doing major renovations, a nice deck, with obviously new furniture, which they should have checked out before paying the final bill, as the tables were extremely wobbly, in spite of pieces of serviettes stuffed under the legs, Let's get back to service fantastic, we have a habit of introducing ourselves and insist on knowing the servers name, so we can chat using names, service with a smile, a chilled bottle of wine was brought to our table in an ice bucket, we like ice on the side, no problema all done with a smile and friendly conversation, we looked at the menu and decided to order the pizza which had feta cheese tomato etc, sorry forget the name, it was brought to our table, hot and crisp, absolutely delightful.
Last Friday we had our children over and decided to take a ride to the beach and have a coffee and dessert there, to our surprise they presented us with a tray holding approx 12 choices of freshly home made baked cake, tort, even rice pudding all made on the premises, we had the chocolate torte, a fruit type cheese cake, I had the apple tart, and another cake, we could not believe the quality of this cake, and we are dessert lovers.... again we were served by a wonderful person very friendly great service, the coffee?, well it could stand improving, obviously something perked heaven knows when, I would prefer waiting while they make my cup of coffee rather then drink something which has been sitting around. I really recommend the place, especially if you have not been there since May, June 2012, it is worth a try, and what a location! 2 coffees, 4 fab desserts $32.00

Fantastic location on the Boardwalk near Ashridges Bay. opposite the "new" houses on Lakeshore.

Em, that's it!

Our food over 5 occasions in the last year (yes, we gave them the benefit of the doubt) has been average to awful, the service, non-existent and a startling lack of clientele outside of peak summer season.

Despite this, the contentious owner of the place looks like he is doubling the size of the property...

To be honest, just pop onto Queen Street after your walk, and you'll find something better. Believe me, it would not be hard.
