Description: The Irish Embassy takes great pride in its dedication to a centuries-old tradition of hospitality unique to the Emerald Isle. This magnificently restored heritage site - one of Toronto's first banks - is now home to an enchanting Old World ambiance and standard of personal service and cuisine echoing a commitment to excellence without rival. Conveniently located in the heart of Toronto's financial district, the Irish Embassy is extraordinarily flexible in its multi-purpose design. Not only a warm and inviting setting for the after-work crowd and personal dining, it is recognized as one of downtown's most dynamic venues for upscale cocktail receptions, social celebrations and corporate gatherings.

This place is about as far removed from an Irish pub as you can get. There was nothing inside the place that would even come close to an Irish theme, including entertainment. The drinks were overpriced although our waitress was friendly and fast. The doorman was a sourpuss and it was evident he was not happy about being there or welcoming patrons. Crossing that place off my list.

So, those who know me know I love good food. This place has good food. Went there with a party of 6. Service was prompt & polite. The food, lamb stew, was delicious. I was amazed at the serving size. My fellow diners got the fish & chips, and were amazed!. Their fish was almost as big as the plate! I really enjoyed the stew. Watching a little soccer while enjoying the meal was even better.

My husband, friend and myself stopped in here on a Friday night to pass abit of time before heading to the train station to catch a ride back to Haliburton. We were pleasantly surprised as to the atmosphere in this pub. Everyone was friendly, service was great and wonderful food.

Came across the Irish Embassy Pub by accident and took advantage of it late one evening. There was a great feeling about the place and we were made feel very welcome by the staff.

Definitely worth visiting when in downtown Toronto
