$206 – 3 course meal for two with a bottle of wine and coffee. Nice assortment of breads offered as well as an amuse bouche. Beautifully decorated restaurant, tables well spaced, excellent acoustics and quiet background music make this a good choice for business or romance. Really interesting menu. Main course was seared scallops topped with quail eggs with corn puree and salad greens. Nice balance of rich and light ingredients. Excellent global wine list starting at about $45 with lots of choice in the mid and high price range. Staff are happy to help you select something for your meal. Outstanding dessert – citrus donuts with an orange cardamom milkshake (icy cold and very refreshing – just a small glass) and liqueur marinated thin orange slices enough for 2. We splurged and had the blueberry tart as well that came with a vanilla puree, and honeyed apricots. Tons of sweet blueberries and a nice crisp pastry crust. Coffee could have been hotter and a little bitter in flavor. Attractive bar area in separate room. Location at Bay and Bloor is steps from the subway and a block from parking one block north. Another option across the street is the Manulife Centre ($25 purchase = 2 hours free parking - there are grocery, liquor and book stores so easy to find something you need for $25).

We were here on the August holiday weekend for lunch and it was really very good. The restaurant was quiet but did everything for us that we asked. Very good and very close to the subway. We will revisit for sure
and have already recommended to others who have also enjoyed.
A lot of Canadian fare what a treat. The wild Blueberries are stunning this year

Pangaea is conveniently located across from the Bay Subway Station. It has an in-house sommelier and a very knowledgeable and hospitable staff. Martin Kouprie and Peter Geary are owners -- Martin is the chef and Peter takes care of the front of the house. The menu changes more frequently than the seasons! We live down the street from this restaurant so we go there as often as we can and it surprises us how often new items show up on the menu! The food is priced reasonably (even the desserts which are made by a pastry chef and has been featured in top magazines). The unique pink beet or carrot&ginger butter spread are amazing and only found in Pangaea! They have also started to make all their rolls and a favourite of mine is the honey oat roll! The house chardonnay is fantastic and priced at $35 per bottle - a fantastic price not easily found in other city restaurants of this calibre. The liver, duck and mushroom rissotto are 3 delicious entres that are worth trying. Once you go, you will be a big fan of Pangaea too!

Loved, loved, loved my meal here! Was promptly greeted at the door, was able to get a table for one without a reservation as I got there early. The wait staff was attentive and had impeccable timing. I started with the house pinot grigio and chose the apple, roquefort and walnut salad, the halibut with peas, new potatoes, and some shallots. This was amazingly simple, but with beautiful presentation, portioning, and fresh flavour. The dessert was the strawberry shortcake with lemon whipped creme Awesome! Wine, meal, dessert and coffee with and a generous tip for under $75 was so worth it. I am happy that I was able to enjoy at fabulous meal after the disappointing meal at a super hyped 51st floor restaurant. Cannot beat the location!

Always a favourite for either lunch or dinner. Just off the amazing shopping on Bloor Street and tucked away just north on Bay St. Service is good. Knowledgeable wine service. Good fresh menu with a good array of choices in both the appetizer and mains. Uses sustainable fish products and local meats and fresh vegetables. A nice mix of flavours and textures in all dishes. We were in for a relaxed evening with friends and catching up with travels and life so were not rushed and left to chat and relax. It was hot outside but the temperature was just right inside. The martini's were marvelous.
