$206 – 3 course meal for two with a bottle of wine and coffee. Nice assortment of breads offered as well as an amuse bouche. Beautifully decorated restaurant, tables well spaced, excellent acoustics and quiet background music make this a good choice for business or romance. Really interesting menu. Main course was seared scallops topped with quail eggs with corn puree and salad greens. Nice balance of rich and light ingredients. Excellent global wine list starting at about $45 with lots of choice in the mid and high price range. Staff are happy to help you select something for your meal. Outstanding dessert – citrus donuts with an orange cardamom milkshake (icy cold and very refreshing – just a small glass) and liqueur marinated thin orange slices enough for 2. We splurged and had the blueberry tart as well that came with a vanilla puree, and honeyed apricots. Tons of sweet blueberries and a nice crisp pastry crust. Coffee could have been hotter and a little bitter in flavor. Attractive bar area in separate room. Location at Bay and Bloor is steps from the subway and a block from parking one block north. Another option across the street is the Manulife Centre ($25 purchase = 2 hours free parking - there are grocery, liquor and book stores so easy to find something you need for $25).
