Came here after leaving another so called irish bar and this was a total let down as well. They advertise live music on the weekends. We arrived saturday evening and all that was playing on the radio was washed up 80's bands. No live entertainment, no irish music. Service was average and the food was just ok.

I loved the atmosphere at P.J. O'Brien's - as authentic an Irish Pub as you're going to find in Toronto complete with tons or regulars just hanging out at the bar (when I visited at lunch one patron hadn't moved an inch from his position standing at the bar for the hour and a half I was there!). There are several rooms to choose from together with private booths that have curtains that can be closed to keep prying eyes and ears at bay. The atmosphere is a definite 5 star experience.

Sadly, the food doesn't quite live up to its surroundings - no better than three stars (hence the four star rating). The menu is limited to the usual pub grub though there are some specials. I went with both the day I visited - the black bean soup and beef/melted cheese wrap. The soup was nicely seasoned and a large serving. The wrap was greasy, somewhat bland and very hard to eat with one's hands.

If you're looking to quaff a few pints of Irish beer with friends then P.J.'s is the place to go. If you want more of a food experience then eat at the nearby Irish Embassy Pub.

Terrific pub with a neighborhood feel. Knew there was some history here, locals yakking, nicely worn place. Great pulled pints with professional staff. All good. Wished it was around the corner from where I live.
I wasn't there to eat, but the mate next had a great plate of moule and bread and I knew there was a kitchen to backup the rest. All good.

If you're looking for pub with an authentic Irish atmosphere, good beer and great food, look no further-PJ's is the place to go. There's something for everyone without having to break the bank. PJ's offers authentic pub fair as well as some higher end meals, which are both tasty and reasonably priced. The atomsphere is cozy, and has an old style area (darker and more "pub like") as well as a newly renovated area which is bright and charming. Of all the pubs in Toronto, PJ's is a favourite amongst the locals and is a great place to hang out for an evening of good food, drinks and on occasion, live entertainment.

This is not a 'spit and sawdust' kind of Irish Pub. It's sophisticated, friendly and gives excellent value for money. After your meal be sure to venture up to the bar and join in the craic. You'll make friends here. location is excellent too as it is nearby the TTC. Always a great spot for St Paddy's Day.
