“Best Diner in Yorkville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2012

I have been to Flo's Diner many, many times over the past 10 years. I recently re-visited Toronto and took the opportunity to once again enjoy Flo's.

The atmosphere is nothing to write home about but the service and the food is superb. I've never had a bad meal in the 100's of times that I've eaten at Flo's.

One of the complaints that you will hear is that the restaurant is small and that it's hard to get into as reservations are not accepted. This is true on weekends and even more problematic on weekends in the summer. Also, your entire party needs to be at the restaurant or they won't give you a seat.

All of this taken into consideration, this is still my favourite quick food restaurant in the Yorkville area.

“Nothing organic, not even eggs at the very least!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2011

Love the location for our family and colleagues. Used to eat there all the time. Competetors in the neighborhood now offer organic eggs (for $1.50 more per omelette) with organic spinach veggie omelettes. We kindly asked them to carry organic free range eggs (as we are educated about the ill effects of hormones and antibiotics in regular eggs). Flo's manager declined even though we told him we would pay for the dozen and come every week and eat them. He also told us.

“Dissatisfied”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2011

I've been to Flo's many times, but after today I won't return.
Three of us went there today for brunch, arriving about 10 past 10. Our waiter was excellent and earned a generous tip. When an order of Eggs Benedict arrived cold, he had them re-made instead of just having the first order re-heated, and we appreciated that. All in all everything was fine until 11:15, when one of the staff came to our table and said "I hate to be rude but i'd like to get these kids seated." We had ordered full breakfasts. We had already paid our bill, but one of our group was still finishing her coffee. We hadn't taken an unreasonable amount of time (and had tipped generously). We left our table right away and saw about 8 people waiting to be seated - not so much of a line-up for a popular restaurant on a Saturday. If staff had just been patient for 5 more minutes we would have been on our way. Instead we left dissatisfied. We didn't make a scene but complained we had been treated rudely. The staff member who had asked us to leave said he didn't have time to deal with us.
If you want a great brunch experience in downtown Toronto there are at least two much better options - Cora's on Carlton, and Fran's on Shuter. Great food, great service and you won't be rushed out even when there's a long line-up. I guess that's why they stay so popular. Flo's could learn a lesson here, but probably won't.

“A great Sunday Brunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2011

One of teh best Sunday Brunch's I have ever tasted. It was really busy which added to the buzz, withe the punters a mix of regulars and tourists. Everything cooked to perfection and great service.
