“two days in a row - enjoyed both”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

first experienced Bier Markt, taking a dear friend out for drinks in advance of his imminent wedding. And then the next day, experienced it again for Father's day with my wife and (adult) kids. Really appreciated the extensive choice of beers and the suggested pairings with food choices.

“Will Return!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

First of all, this place is a MUST GO if you're in Toronto. The beer menu alone is fantastic and the servers/bartenders know so much about it. I never thought of pairing beer and food before! It seemed obvious after a while, but I've honestly never seen this much of a variety before. The menu is slightly pricey (beer and food) but is worth every penny in my book.

A group of friends and I went in and noticed there was room on the patio. Great vibe out there :) The server came over promptly and gave us the schpeel: feature beer (apparently only available here in Canada from Germany), the dinner feature, a few appetizers we may like, and offered to help suggest some drinks we may enjoy since the menu is so large. They were surprisingly informative! That definitely helped with our selection. I had something from Germany called a dunkel-lager. It was a darker beer but was really smooth with a little hint of chocolate and nuts (unexpectedly delicious!).

When it came down to food, we shared some of the capon wings. They're a little hot but not too much. They taste awesome. Then for dinner I tried the veal schnitzel. I've never had schnitzel before and the server recommended this one out of the 3 selections. They knew what they were talking about. It tasted like mom's home cooking and the plating was really nice too. Some of the other guys tried the T-bone burger which they really liked. It came with housemade barbecue sauce that's apparently made from a beer on tap. SO GOOD!

We looked at the dessert menu but were too stuffed for anything. But we'll definitely go back for dessert because everything is made from scratch....even the S'MORES WAFFLES (drool).

Overall: Great Experience ;)

“We go every year”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

Every year when we go to Toronto we hit up the Bier Market. Good selection of beers, good vibe, good location and more fun the later it gets. The food isn't much to get excited about but it is pretty par for bar food. We've had great service and bad service; that's the industry. Definitely worth stopping in for a beer.

“Bad food and service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013

The place is ok if you only go for beers. The food is below average and definitely not worth the money. If you really need to eat in this restaurant go for the fries. Service is pretty lousy too, we had to wait a long time for the waitress to take our order and to get new drinks or other stuff like salt & pepper to the table.
Even tough it was a beautiful day on the patio and the beer was refreshing the overall experience was bad.

“Converted to Beer!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2013

A friend took me to the BierMkt on the Esplanade in Toronto. I hate beer but it was the friendship more than the place that mattered so I went. Wow, it's an amazing place with over 150 beers from one 50 countries and if you hate beer - this is the place that will convert you! The grapefruit beer is tart and refreshing, the raspberry beer over ice was feminine and fruity with a soft pink head. They have non-alcoholic beer, gluten-free beer, beer cocktails and specialties like Mocha Porter, Hazelnut Brown Nectar and Oregasmic Ale. These are served more like mixed drinks in fancy glasses rather than in heavy beer mugs. The waite staff knows everything about beer and are really helpful in selecting a beer out of the bible of beer they give you to choose from. Oh yea, the food is not-too-bad bar food, but then I was there for a beer. When in Toronto - you have to go!
