Went in Epicure after strolling up and down that part of Queen Street as menu was varied and offered us a couple of interesting choices. The service (like all of Canada so far) was excellent and the food was great as well. A really nicely constructed pasta dish that had loads of flavour without drowning the pasta in sauce. The pizza was the first while away and had a great base and quality topping, especially if you like Goats cheese. The waitress happily brought three beer tasters to work out which would be best.

I found this place while walking down Queen St after a baseball game. I liked there roof top patio, which was quaint and no loud music so you can hear each other talk.
The servers were friendly and brought our food and drinks promptly.
Epicure has the best fries I ever had, I could just order a plate of these. The steak sandwich was well made and I enjoyed the portabela mushrooms. I would go again.

I have been a near-regular at the Epicure for years. The restaurant has been through many changes, redecorations and staff changes, but the large and varied menu has always been front and centre. An $18 bouillabaise is the best deal in Toronto and, bargain aside, it's a great bowl of delicious, savoury, saffron hinted, seafood rich goodness that will stand up to any competition except the glorious bowl served at Bodega in Baldwin Village (which is some of the best bouillabaisse in the world IMO). The wine list is well chosen, albeit limited, but l've tried a lot of them (and of course the selection changes seasonally on availability and new choices) and they've always been great. The bartending (a mildly spicy Caesar anyone?) is competent. There's even a selection of decent Scotch for those so inclined. But it's the menu variety and daily specials that keep me coming back month after month, year after year. A really good burger (several varieties actually) can also be had and enjoyed, and it stands up beautifully against the so-called gourmet burgers offered in competing establishments. Wonderful stuff. Crave a steak? There's always a reasonably tender cut of striploin or ribeye among the chalkboard specials. Fish is fresh and there's something different from sea or the lake every week. Lean more toward the vegetarian side of things? The Epicure can satisfy those cravings too with a wide variety of salads and vegetarian mains. You can finish any meal by enjoying your choice from a variety of well-prepared deserts. Epicure has served a killer Tiramisu for many years. Moderate prices, good and carefully prepared food made from fresh ingredients and thoughtful recipes by an experienced kitchen. What more can we ask?

Epicure was our second stop in an evening of restaurant hopping: one appetizer and a glass of wine at each stop. There are only 4 white and 4 reds by the glass, most of which aren't very good. Food on the other hand was a pleasant surprise. I would rate the food higher than the restaurant overall, so all in all not a bad experience!

Small establishment, but great food selection. Stairs to upper dining room and washrooms quite steep.
