“Toronto's greatest example of its newly earned place as a fine City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

The Hazelton is to Toronto what The Plaza Athenee is to Paris, once you know the place, you cannot separate the city from the hotel and you think of both as being the same. It is located in the best area of Toronto where the finest residential area meets the top shopping, restaurant and cultural scene. Walking distance to the City's best in retail, museums, galleries, food, entertainment and transportation, but fundamentally, a destination on its own.
From our arrival to our departure our 6 day stay was seamless. The quality of the service, the attention to detail, the impeccable manners, and the absolutely delicious food were an unexpected treat in a place that up until no long ago was not known for its kindness.
The Hazelton seems to have written the standard of Toronto's best and certainly defined what Canadian Hospitality is, not as vague concept, but an actual experience.
The staff represents the diversity of the city, the food and beverage choices include the richness of Canada's produce, the decoration and artwork nurture you with Canadian creativity, and the location does the rest, enticing the most good looking crowd to fill all venues at the hotel. Never a dull moment, non stop.
The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms dreamlike, the housekeeping staff impeccable, the amenities and facilities abundant and current, wifi strong and steady, the concierge desk helpful, knowledgeable and absolutely real, and the staff in general delivers a fine standard of service with in a seamless orchestration that denotes management cares to provide a fine hospitality experience as a product. Worth every minute and certainly every cent. A truly fine, current and delightful experience.

Room Tip: Room facing the front and restaurant have the morning sun, room facing the back the afternoon light...

We entered the lobby on a beautiful early summer afternoon greeted by a sleek, modern reception area. It was a first time visit for us to the Hazelton hotel, and our immediate impression was a very good one. Cold water was offered as we checked in, and we were escorted to our master king suite. Our Porter ensured we had everything we required and also made sure we knew how to operate all of the "technology" in the room before leaving us. This was a nice touch, as the rooms are very modern and there are many "automatic" features to become familiar with. The room was spacious and nicely decorated with understated elegance. The bathroom and dressing area are spectacular!
A pet peeve of mine is high end hotels who nickel and dime guests for things like Internet and water. The Hazelton, thankfully, does no such thing! In fact the Porter ensures that you know the Internet password as well as letting you know that all items in the mini bar fridge are free of charge! ( other than the alcoholic beverages).
The hotel has a great lobby bar, which by Thursday night was really rocking!!! Of course being in the heart of Yorkville, there were also endless options for dining, drinking, and shopping outside of the hotel all within walking distance.
We will definitely stay at the Hazelton on future visits to Toronto....a wonderful place to stay!

Having lived in Toronto for 9 years until a few years ago, we are not experts on Toronto hotels and have always stayed at the Park Hyatt. This trip we decided to stay at the Hazelton, which was built while we lived there. If your taste is for lively hotels with lots of public facilities, then this is not for you. But for discrete, excellent service and privacy it is ideal. It's clear why this is the hotel of choice for celebrities, especially during the Toronto Film Festival. That said, the hotel is smack bang in the centre of Yorkville, Toronto's place to be seen, and next to the main shopping area around Bloor Street.

The rooms are outstanding; we had a superior King room for 5 nights that could not be faulted. It came with a small balcony although not much of a view to the rear of the hotel - but quiet as the grave at night so good for sleeping.

The hotel restaurant One is one of Toronto's finest (and most expensive!). Again THE place to be seen, especially on the terrace during the summer months. My only slight criticism is the cost of breakfast - typically $80-90 for two. There is no "continental breakfast" option. A better idea is to go over Avenue Road to Second Cup and buy two of their excellent muffins and two cappuccinos - for a grand total of $12.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front face onto the hustle and bustle of Yorkville Street - great if you like to watch...

The black marble entrance in contrast with the high polished wood immediately gives you a modern and luxurious feel. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, especially the bathrooms. Staff and service was adeguate and the food was delicious and inventive, but then anything Mark McEwan has his name on is! Great bar with fabulously devlish cocktails all served bu cheerful staff. Perfect for romantic escapes, with many designer boutiques and various high end restaurants along the Yorkville shopping area. The hotel has a great terrace restaurant on the ground level where you can rub shoulders with visiting celebrities.
The room service breakfast was fantastic, along with our champagne!

I am not sure if I have not found the perfect hotel - great location surrounded by many restaurants, friendly knowledgeable staff, great room size well equipped and with a really comfortable bed. Two very slight negatives - the shower is not hot enough (probably a safety feature) and the breakfast menu is somewhat limited. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

well done to the team

We had a Luxury King Room for five nights. Decided to stay based upon reviews on TripAdvisor. The service was immaculate, with a limo pickup from the airport and a personalised welcome on arrival. Beautiful room with heated floors in one of the most beautiful bathroom's ever! Fantastic amenities. We had breakfast there every morning too, which was an excellent choice. Great coffee!
Were we ever back in Toronto, I'd stay there again.

Very nice boutique hotels nestled in the middle of Yorkville. Staff was friendly at check-in and walked me to my room (401). Well appointed room with comfy bed. There was a pillow menu placed on my bed after turndown service, but it was tool late when I got back to call housekeeping and wait for pillow choice. (The 4 that came with the room were suffice). My only complaint is that the Mini Bar is week. They should add some Spirits to the Mix...just saying.

Room Tip: The Hotel only has 4 floors so don't expect and grandiose views.
