Our stay was great. We came for a few days of sightseeing with our two children, ages 14 and 7. The apartment was wonderful - cozy, had everything we needed, and the neighborhood was AWESOME! Bookstores, cafes, a bakery, the Polish deli. Nearby subway and trolley lines were great for getting around without having to drive the car. We enjoyed the Bata Shoe Museum, the Royal Ontario Museum, the distillery district and the amazing St. Lawrence Market.

I really enjoyed my stay at By The Park. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the neighborhood was quiet. The Keele Street subway station was within walking distance, which is a great link to downtown and the rest of the city. Before finding By The Park, I've stayed at downtown hotels in the past, but this hidden gem will make me want to come back.

This was our 4th or 5th time staying with Margo and Ziggy. It has become our home away from home. Love the place, the Roncesvalles neighbourhood, the proximity to High Park (a 2 minute walk) and easy access to public transport. We usually leave the car at the house and walk to neighbourhood restaurants. My favorite watering holes are Dizzy's and Gate 403 for the live blues and jazz. Both are on Roncesvalles Avenue.

We would recommend this b&b to anyone who appreciates historic architecture, art, vegetarian/vegan principles, exquisite furnishings, high standard bedrooms, welcoming hostse and a good, hearty breakfast, all in the tranquility of a lovely tree lined street, a minute away from underground/tube whichi takes you into the centre of the city in a jiffy. We will certainly be staying again. The marble bathroom is amazing and having to share just with one other room is no problem at all. Will try the jet bath next time!
Thank you Margo and Ziggy for a wonderful stay! See you again next time we visit Toronto.

We stayed at Lily and Wisteria. The hosts were very accommodating (we were late due to traffic) and made sure they were available if we ever needed anything (we didn't). The location was absolutely great--a bakery, coffee shop, and used book store directly across the street. Several small grocers/food stands, a pizza place, and a few restaurants/bars within a three-minutes walk. The streetcar stop directly across the street in one direction and twenty yards from the porch in the other direction. Off-road parking in a garage was very convenient and nice as it rained one of the days. The rooms look like they were just redone--everything was extremely clean and in great shape. Microwaves, ranges, fridges also in excellent condition, lots of clean plates and glasses and silverware. Beds were very comfortable. Hot water and good pressure in the showers.

the first night there was some noise from the street that bothered the top floor (we didn't even hear it in the bottom floor), but it was relatively short-lived (we were told) and it was the only night of three it was an issue.

We've already said this is where we'll stay our next time in Toronto--highly recommended.

Stayed this past weekend at the Iris Room High Park Suites, a part of the By the Park Bed and Breakfast. We read mixed reviews about this room and after we booked had our hesitations. However, we truly had no complaints! Margo (who we didn't get to meet but I'm sure her decor influenced the room!) and Ziggy (who we met briefly and was more then helpful) did all they could to have the room in tip too shape. Everything was clean and well cared for. One concern about the room was the low ceilings and the pipes that were said to be bothersome to other people. My boyfriend is 6'2" and while he ducked where the pipes were in the room they did not bother him. The room itself was cozy and we loved having a safe lil haven on a chilly November weekend in the city. Breakfast was not a part of where we stayed but we had acces to a shared kitchenette and our own private bathroom- which was perfect. Plenty of towels and available toiletries if we were in need.

Only recommendation - the room was very warm and because of the heat we woke up with dry mouth in the middle of the night. Being a garden level suite a humidifier may help?

No matter we loved the location- great neighborhood! Close to things including High Park, the train and more. We had a wonderful weekend and WILL be back!

Thanks so much, Margo and Ziggy! You offer much to the Toronto area with your lovely accommodations that more then met our needs. Hope to stay again soon!

Thank you so much for taking a moment to share your experience. Iris Bedroom as well as Rose and Daisy, all located on the lower level are very popular. They are a good value at $77 for single and $87 for double occupancy (+tax) for expensive city like Toronto. That whole level was recently renovated and all furnishings, linens and towels are same quality as our other bedrooms and suites. Hopefully in the near future we will find time and funds to replace all the heating pipes to gain more headroom. Have a great Holidays and Happy New Year. See you soon.
