Owner description: The Princess of Wales Theatre is a 2000-seat playhouse built by the father and son producing team of David and Ed Mirvish, just a block away from their historic Royal Alexandra Theatre. The Princess of Wales is the first privately owned and financed theatre built in Canada since 1907 - and the first anywhere in North America in over 30 years. Construction began on August 6, 1991, and the building opened to the public with the musical Miss Saigon on May 26, 1993.The theatre was built with maximum flexibility in mind. Its stage is one of the widest and deepest in North America - large enough to accommodate the most spectacular theatrical productions - and its technical facilities are state-of-the-art.

Really enjoyed the show (have seen it several times over the years plus the movie), the main difference is the staging which was imaginative and slickly changed. The one issue is the the main players were missing and 7 of the 8 main parts were sung by alternates. Now they were very good, but it was a disappointment not to see the stars people had been raving over.
The theatre was a little late opening the doors so there was a real crush getting in, with only one attendant doing her best in the balcony. Getting out was a real crush, heaven alone knows what would happen if an evacuation was needed. Another small moan, it had snowed and the sidewalk was covered in slush, surely somebody could have cleared that in the 3 hours we were in there.

Heard so much about Les Miz , and for myself did not know the story . Out of four of us , ( one got goosebumps --she absolutely loved it ) , one left at intermission , and myself and one friend stayed till the end , hoping it improves .
The voices were outstanding !
The sets , changing the scenes were incredible .
However it was probably the story itself , I personally would like to be entertained and even --especially , given the name , was not an uplifting story .
I also found the sound to be extremely loud .
Glad to go to see what all the fuss is about , however personally I wouldn't recommend this show , never mind the $$$ .

It's simply a great musical with a fantastic cast of singers. All ages will enjoy though the adults can probably appreciate the story and music more than the children. The set is not overly sophisticated like Las Vegas or New York but its still a winner.

Very Happy....Great Theatre has the grace and elegance of a true theatre. We saw Les Miserables and enjoyed the whole experiance. Although it was very crowded when we arrived our tickets were at the window. Plenty of folks available to help you with seating.

We had the good fortune to attend an afternoon performance of the Toronto production of Les Miserables. It was an amazing show with a very strong cast .
Ramin Karimloo was an excellent Jean Valjean and his performance was one of the best I have seen in this role. ( and I have seen several others !)
The entire cast was wonderful, everyone from the young children to the leads!
I highly recommend this show to anyone living or visiting Toronto!
