Owner description: The Princess of Wales Theatre is a 2000-seat playhouse built by the father and son producing team of David and Ed Mirvish, just a block away from their historic Royal Alexandra Theatre. The Princess of Wales is the first privately owned and financed theatre built in Canada since 1907 - and the first anywhere in North America in over 30 years. Construction began on August 6, 1991, and the building opened to the public with the musical Miss Saigon on May 26, 1993.The theatre was built with maximum flexibility in mind. Its stage is one of the widest and deepest in North America - large enough to accommodate the most spectacular theatrical productions - and its technical facilities are state-of-the-art.

Saw Book of Mormon here. Lovely old theatre. Loads of personality. Only drawback is the serious lack of washrooms.

The title will be understood by those that have seen the show. lol

We did a weekend trip to Toronto with the sole intent of seeing The Book of Mormon.

If you are easily offended or religious, you may want to consider passing this up.

It's written by Matt Parker and Trey Stone, as well as one other writer I believe whose name I can't remember at the moment.

It has a good storyline; the laughs are spread out accordingly, some will make you chuckle, other times you'd probably spit your drink out if you purchased one.

The cast did an amazing job. They have obviously gotten the hang of working with each other and it shows in the fluidity of their interactions. The singing was great. Really listen to the songs for some of the funniest parts in the play.

About the only thing I didn't like was the seating in the Princess of Wales Theatre. I found them to be slightly uncomfortable.

They have some good souvenirs for sale during and after the show. I got a t-shirt with "Hasa Diga Eebowai" on it and an umbrella with some funny innuendos on it such as "I'm wet with salvation!" on it.

If you missed this show, you did not miss much. The musical score is borrowered from many other productions and really I guess if you are a huge fan of South Park you'll enjoy this, but not great theatre.

Not worth the hoopla by a long shot.

Had a great time at the Book of Mormon on June 1st in Toronto. As a South Park fan I knew was to expect from these guys and they did not dissapoint. Very funny storyline - NOT for the easily offended but I am sure by now most people know what they are getting into when they go to see this show. The actors were great and the songs were hilarious. Theatre bar wasnt as bad as I expected and you cab bring your drinks to your seat - a bonus over some other theatres in Toronto. Definitely recommend this to other fans!
