Owner description: The Princess of Wales Theatre is a 2000-seat playhouse built by the father and son producing team of David and Ed Mirvish, just a block away from their historic Royal Alexandra Theatre. The Princess of Wales is the first privately owned and financed theatre built in Canada since 1907 - and the first anywhere in North America in over 30 years. Construction began on August 6, 1991, and the building opened to the public with the musical Miss Saigon on May 26, 1993.The theatre was built with maximum flexibility in mind. Its stage is one of the widest and deepest in North America - large enough to accommodate the most spectacular theatrical productions - and its technical facilities are state-of-the-art.

I went to see "Warhorse" - a fabulous experience. The grand old theatre, with its tiered orchestra and balconies is elegant in the classical style. Acoustics and sight lines were good. My only gripe is that the match between the signage and the ticket to find the appropriate entry for your seat could have been clearer.

A fairly new theatre with a great view from all of its comfortable seats. Plenty of parking, access to public transit and they have concessions available for purchase during intermission which you can bring back into the theatre with you.

We recently saw the production Warhorse at the Princess of Wales theatre and were VERY impressed. The seats were roomy and comfortable - and the parking was conveniently right below the theatre. Perfect for leaving your car and going out for dinner after the show.

This theater is the venerable grande dame in Toronto. I saw Warhorse this weekend past. What an amazing production! The staging is brilliant. The director has made fabulous use of the aisles, bringing the audience right into the thick of things. You really do forget that the horses are puppets as they take on their personalities on stage. This is truly a must see before it closes in January

I saw War Horse in the Princess of Wales Theater in September. I think its one of the best venues in the city of Toronto.
