The rooms although nice are very cramped, the AC is more of a white noise generator than a cooling system. Which incidentally was its only saving grace as the friday evening we stayed there was LOUD music until 3AM that carried up to the third floor. The bass was so deep i think I lost a filling. The bathroom frankly was more of a closet with water in it. I have used telephone booths with more elbow room than was available in the shower. My biggest fear was closing the shower door only to emerge half man half fly. If you want ICE then you may as well forget it. I called down three times for a bucket of ice and never received it. All in all I would rate this experience a very poor one. The Restaurant also was disappointing I ordered a Stake Medium well and after it being returned it still came back the same. Money better spent in another Hotel. $220 a night is very steep and I don't think we really got any sense of value our hard earned US Dollar.

Room Tip: Book into the Sheraton or Hilton

We stayed here while we were in town for our wedding. We chose this hotel because it is artistically unique and offered a great spot for some wedding photos.
We stayed in the "Best Room" which was nicely decorated, small and clean. The best thing about this hotel is the atmosphere. The front desk staff weren't overly friendly or helpful, more indifferent. The restaurant bartender was super friendly as was house keeping. They don't seem to have air-conditioned rooms as we had a stand alone unit in our room which was loud and wasn't able to keep up with 6 girls getting ready on a hot september day. House keeping didn't take away our dirty dishes when they cleaned our room. They left stale food sitting on dishes, so we just put them outside our door. We had breakfast in the bar twice, and it was really slow but the food was worth the wait! We observed other tables complaining to staff and even getting up and leaving. You have to wait for someone to take you up in the lift and there is not really anywhere for you to pull up and unload easily. Even with all of these inconveniences you can't help but realize that this might be by design and maybe instead of trying to rush around you should relax and admire this beautiful building and the art! We would stay here again!!

Just got back yesterday from a brief birthday trip to Toronto/Niagara/Toronto with both evenings in Toronto staying in the Gladstone (in different rooms). Loved the artsy feel and vibe of the place. Rooms were fantastic and it was great to watch the sun rise over the CN Tower from room 415 (the one designed by the owner with pictures from the park round the corner. Stayed in 404, the Canadiana room sunday and enjoyed the view out over the street and passing streetcars. All the staff couldn't do enough to help, from giving directions and hailing down cabs at set times for us, to checking in a printing out our boarding passes. Little way out of town but one straight street car trip into the centre. We walked there one day and probably took us about 40 mins from the door to the harbour front. Don't miss breakfast in the bar, the breakfast sandwich and the huevos rancheros was great and my wife loved the scrambled tofu! Couple of doors down you've got the Beaver bar which was recommended by Gladstone staff and was really friendly, you've also got the Beaconsfield and the Drake hotel with it's cool rooftop bar a little further down. All in all, loved it and would throughly recommend to anyone who is up for something a little more interesting than a generic chain hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms look great

Had a GREAT 20th Anniversary Getaway and stayed at the Gladstone. Staff and service were EXCELLENT!! Very helpful and courteous. Rooms were unique and very clean. My only complaint would be that they did not do something "special" for us knowing that it was our 20th Anniversary Getaway...I had read of other hotels that will do at least something for guests celebrating a special occasion and was hoping for something...but does not deter me from writing a great review for the Gladstone. Rooms and beds are very comfortable and clean!! Would definately stay again.

Room Tip: Try the "Racine" room...very cool room, bed is super comfortable and headboard in the room is AMAZING!!

Bikers and Art lovers, looking for a special weekend? Wait no more; reserve your stay at the Gladstone hotel. Right in the art district, you will be a few blocks away from the major museums and lovely galleries. Feel like biking, just hop on your saddle and pedal to the lakeshore and enjoy!

Best of all, you wont need to keep your carbon bike on your car rooftop; the Gladstone staff will shelter your beloved bike and keep it safe and sound. Just ask!

Room Tip: Every room is different, plan a trip to visit each one of them!
