Not able to get to Berlin to see the philharmonic? Then the TSO is for you. The venue is amazing and the symphony excellent.

My wife and go attend 5-6 concerts a year, and our most recent visit was to hear Mahler's Sixth Symphony. This is a sprawling, messy work that requires the orchestra to be fully on top of things. The TSO, conducted for the occasion by a Swedish conductor, Thomas Dausgaard, who led the orchestra through a very difficult but thrilling work. The acoustics of Roy Thomson Hall are not the best, but we're lucky to have the TSO playing in it,

Excellent venue for classical concerts. Seating is comfortable with very good views. Acoustics are excellent in most sections. Roy Thompson Hall has a very good music store and food services. And access is convenient, both for cars and from the TTC (public transport.)

I have been part of the TSOundcheck for the last few years and I love getting discounted tickets for a series of concerts. There is always the standard fare for the die hard classical fans who know about all the composers and the pieces and just understand music in a way that the rest of us average people don't. But regardless, for us "average people", going to enjoy the music in our own way is good enough for me. They also have some really fun concerts that go beyond the standard classical genre and hold concerts that that have a theme for television or movies! I especially loved the one in 2008 called "Star Trek - the Music" where they brought in John De Lancie and Robert Picardo.

I love the location, as being central and surrounded by many good eateries and along the public transit line.

One of the best features for me is that they maintain that the entire site is fragrance free so that there are not any irritants for those with sensitivities/allergies.

The acoustic in the hall are great and it's always the best thing to be doing after a rough day at work!
