Owner description: The Ed Mirvish Theatre began its life in 1920 as a combination vaudeville and motion picture theatre in the Pantages theatre circuit. With its original 3373 seats, it was the largest cinema in Canada and, with its lavish interior - designed by the great theatre architect Thomas Lamb - the most elegant. David Mirvish officially renamed the iconic building The Ed Mirvish Theatre on December 6, 2011.

Wow! Our boys gave us tickets to Aladdin for Christmas and I was so excited. The movie has been etched in my memory since my kids played it over and over again when it first came out years ago. After going to the show I was not disappointed. James Inglehart as the Genie was fantastic and hilarious, the costumes were magnificent, the sets were brilliant, especially the lace walls for the palace. Jonathan Freeman as Jafar and Don Rivera as Iago were perfect. and Adam Jacobs and Courtney Reed made a wonderful pair as Aladdin and Jasmine, making the movie come to life on the stage for me. The magic carpet ride was cool too. I Loved it.

What a night we had at the Mirvish with the Aladdin production. This theater is a gem to (re)discover, seeting is great and confortable (no knee bouncing on the front seat).

The Aladdin production is a must see. Pleasure of the eyes, nice songs - great singers, and a fantastic casting. All of the participants are great - even with secondary roles. The set is very spectacular with various special effects, lightings, costumes are incridible and beautiful.

5 big stars and thumbs up for the Genie. And a special note to the three guys doing the links between scenes. Jafar/Iago are superb as Aladdin/Jasmine and the father. Great casting.

Again it is a must see if you love Disney magic stories. I've read many bad critics from the local news papers, but they should know that people love that show and i have absolutly no regrets to have spent good money to see it. Entertainment it is, not a socio-intello drama for critics. Guys, change job if you find that show boring.

Who ever chose Iglehart to play the genie got it right. I thought I would be disappointed with whomever was going to fill Robin Williams shoes for this character, but he was perfect. The show was high energy, without a dull moment. It is a show for all ages. The costumes and the sets were colourful and detailed. I would certainly recommend this if you enjoyed the movie.

A wonderful, old theatre (used to be the Pantages) modernised. And a perfect setting for the new Disney musical, Aladdin.
Very colourful, high energy, poignant and very funny!
And the Genie is over-the-top wonderful!
Special effects (like making a very large man seemingly come out of a very small lamp) are great.

I highly recommend you watch it!
