Owner description: The Distillery District is an internationally acclaimed village of brick-lined streets and dozens of vibrantly restored Victorian Industrial buildings. It’s one of Ontario’s hottest tourist attractions and home to live theatres, galleries, fashion, design and jewelry boutiques, unique cafes and award-winning restaurants. It’s all completely closed to traffic and just a few minutes walk from downtown Toronto.

They have done a fantastic job with the Distillery District - great restaurants, picturesque and the right mix of old and new. A fun time any time but the Christmas season is the best time to go.

“Old Area Made Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

Slightly away from the main shopping area is the Distillery District, which has been been regenerated into an area of quality, specialist shops, bars and eateries. It is good place to spend a few hours wondering around the lanes and shops before stopping for a coffee in any of the places on offer. Not such a good place if it is pouring with rain as there isn't much shelter in the streets.

“Great Way to Spend an Afternoon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

We were concerned that the Distillery District would be a tourist trap destination but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the shops, the preserved architecture, and the food options. While there we had chocolates from SOMA, sandwiches from the Brick Street Bakery, and, my wife bought a beautiful handcrafted necklace. Several weddings were in progress adding to the festivities.
