Owner description: The Distillery District is an internationally acclaimed village of brick-lined streets and dozens of vibrantly restored Victorian Industrial buildings. It’s one of Ontario’s hottest tourist attractions and home to live theatres, galleries, fashion, design and jewelry boutiques, unique cafes and award-winning restaurants. It’s all completely closed to traffic and just a few minutes walk from downtown Toronto.

“Hidden city gem!!”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

A beautiful spot tucked on its own in the middle of Toronto!! We loved the cobble stone roads that were closed off to traffic, the outdoor sculptures, the shops and restaurants...overall a beautiful ambiance!!

The distillery is about a 15 min walk from St. Lawrence market. I recommend waking east along the Esplanade, and you hit the distillery right at the end.

“Nicely Restored Area”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

The district is a restored distilery as you might expect, with lots of Victorian buildings converted into boutique shopes and bars. If you're short of a bit of history it's worth a visit, but it is a bus ride from downtown and there are better sights if your time is short.

“Great Artsy Shops and Food”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

Got here about an hour before everything closed and didn't get a chance to go back, but would recommend it just for the ice cream!
Greg's Ice cream had amazing flavours. I had a half scoop of cinnamon and nutmeg, and another of ginger ...both delightful.
The shops are on the pricey side but if you're looking for one of kind gifts or treats for yourself on your stay in Toronto you'll find them here.
The leather animal ottoman/footstool/side tables are the most unique thing! check them out!
Lots of little streets full of shops/studios/gallerys to explore and markets on the weekends.

“Worth the Visit!”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

We live in the city and love visiting the Distillery District. Typically we go to poke around the wonderful little shops & galleries and then enjoy lunch in one of the great restaurants in the area. It is also a great place to visit for dinner and drinks. Check out the various activities going on before you head down as they have a variety of entertainment going on as well. The Christmas Market is also a fun stop for the whole family.

“very interesting”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

The transformation of this old distillery has been done very tastefully. There are interesting art galleries, shops and restaurants. We ate at the Distillery Restaurant, which was very good.
