We were lucky to be given a chance for a pre-opening visit to the Ripley's Aquarium of Canada located at the base of the CN Tower in Toronto this Thanksgiving weekend. ( Public opening is October 16th, 2013 ). The aquarium is a terrific new attraction for Toronto. There are many large inter active displays of ocean life that one visits from above, sideways through the usual aquarium glass and beneath via a spectacular glass tunnel which affords "in there with the sharks" views. Large ( sharks, rays, turtles ) and small ( schooling fish, anemones, jellyfish ) aquatic life are represented and it was a pleasure to see exhibits on North American marine life as well as the tropical. Budget about two and half hours for a visit, longer with kids, and prepare to be amazed at a first class aquarium.
Note: There is somewhat expensive but convenient ( five minute walk ) parking at the South Convention Centre off of Lower Simcoe Street.
