My girlfriend and I went for a couples massage last week, our first time at Stillwater. The spa itself is beautiful. The changerooms are spacious and well-maintained, with steam room, jacuzzi, sauna, lounge chairs with TV/headphones, comfortable bathrobes, lots of toiletries, and decent lockers. The tea room (waiting room) is also nice, with warm & cold drinks, cookies, comfortable seating, etc.
The big downside of our visit was the massage itself (from RMTs). We've been for many massages at other spas in Montreal (e.g. Espace Nomad, Spa Savanna) and Ottawa (e.g. Holtz, YSS), and the massage at Stillwater was sub-par (my girlfriend indicated it was possibly the worst she's experienced). My masseuse was simply okay, with decent technique but too much focused pressure in joint areas rather than on muscle (despite me having clearly requested a relaxation massage). My girlfriend's masseuse was much worse, ignoring the four times that she indicated discomfort/pain and asked him to lighten the pressure. Near the end of her massage he held her neck in a raised/stretched position while pinching part of her neck - for at least a couple minutes - resulting in neck and head pain for a day and a half with no benefit.
Overall the spa has a great atmosphere and does take you away from the hustle & bustle of Toronto, but we wouldn't return unless we knew the RMTs had improved their technique and listening skills... or if we were going for different spa services.
