“Excellent Place for Coffee”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

A great place to sit, have a very good cup of coffee, a traditional croissant and read the paper. The building has been restored beautifully. With all the cookie cutter coffee chains around, Dineen is a breath of fresh air. Feels like a cafe in Paris or Vienna.

“A little cup of old Europe on Yonge Street”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

On a recent trip to Toronto we stopped in at the Dineen Coffee Company located on Yonge Street at Temperance. It was a rainy wintry day and the place looked soooo inviting. Inside it's like a cafe you would find in Paris or New York. Very cosy, with a banquette and tables against floor to ceiling windows. It wasn't too cold out so we were very comfortable but the banquette seating can get a bit chilly when the thermometer drops. Very good selection of yummy goodies to snack on (, croissants, muffins, cookies, scones...) as well as wraps for a more substantial gnosh. Coffee and tea are excellent. We sat back and relaxed and were thoroughly charmed. None of that cookie-cutter atmosphere of the chain coffee cafes here.

The only drawback is that seating is limited and, as expected today, a good number of the patrons were settled in for a hard day of work or internet play. Perhaps during times when the place is busy, people should not be occupying valuable table space for the day for the price of a coffee??? Just saying....

“Finally "THE" place in the downtown”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

My first impression about this coffee shop: "Wow... this is gonna be expensive", but I was wrong. Normal price, delicious coffee, good vibe, just the place that prople working and living in the downtown needs (my case).
Service: Just average, but is ok. Cofe: Delicious taste. I would love to receive it in my table -they don't bring to you- but is fine.
The only thing that I don't like much is that the tables looks and feels tight whit no room for a private moment, specially when you are looking for a time alone and calm. Seems like you will mistake you table and leave your coffee in the ond next to you lol! But beside this, everything was fine. Great job, great place.

“A Step Back in History for a Delicious non chain store Brew on Yonge Street”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

I finally stepped through the doors and into a tastefully decorated cafe bistro reminiscent of earlier times with colourful tiles on the floor, brass chandeliers that beg to tell the story of where they originated and ever entertaining street level views from this European feeling cafe. I cannot wait for springtime to enjoy their sidewalk tables tucked away on Temperance Street, right off the hustle and bustle of Yonge Street. Servers are all in period uniform and the crowd is decidedly well heeled downtowners. Check out the history of the wealthy Dineen Family, the possible plight of their historic family mansion and enjoy the carefully restored space bearing their name in this charming cafe. For coffee on the go, there are still plenty of Tim's in the area. This is a place to meet with a special friend or business colleague for some relaxing conversation and warm atmosphere.

“Great coffee shop!”
Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

Dineen is so much better than the well known chains nearby I don't know where to begin. The coffee is excellent, food is fresh and service is friendly. Value is better than the chains too. Atmosphere is far superior to anything in the area (lots more seating than the same size Sbux).
