A group luncheon turned out well. Had the Summerlicious 3 course meal that had large flavours and large portions. Great ambience throughout the place. Gazpacho, well spiced; steak, just perfectly cooked and a lemon tart that was outstanding even if they had no creme brulee, my first choice. Service was slow, but that was to be expected somewhat due to the 20+ group although they had ample time through a reservation. Enjoyed the practice stylings of Rebecca Jenkins as she serenaded us...All in all a very pleasant afternoon...

Lovely modern, polished venue and a great list of musical talent and acts. Bar staff are personable. Wait staff even a year after opening are slow and confused. The person who appears to be the owner is extremely rude and unfriendly. This business clearly caters to tourists who only need a partial impression. This is not a place for repeats. They are also jacking up the ticket prices for events slowly to the point that we won't even walk up the street anymore to pop in.

My husband doesn't usually enjoy dining out so its very difficult for me to find a place he will enjoy.
Well, Jazz Bistro came through!! We were there on a Friday night with reservations. We were seated downstairs which is where the live jazz is performed. We like to eat at the bar. My husband asked the hostess if we could change to the bar. Absolutely was her answer and she held two seats until he returned with me. (a minute or two) We asked her about the menu and she answered our questions. Sybil was her name. She was great. My husband had the burger which he enjoyed. I had the halibut special which I enjoyed. The bartender was friendly. The music began, quartet. Great. Loved the atmosphere. There is a $15 music charge. I think its only if you are downstairs. There are two other levels. Had a wonderful experience.

Enjoyed a tasty meal here prior to catching a show at the Ed Mirvish Theatre. A nice restaurant and good food and good service. We ordered a Nicoise Salad and a roasted chicken with veg - both were excellent. Lot's of delicious sounding share plates on the menu that we will have to try another time. Right across the street from the theatre made it convenient to have a weeknight dinner and show outing after work without feeling rushed. Also has a huge TV screen you can see from almost anywhere in the restaurant that allowed us to watch the end of a World Cup semi final. What more can you ask for?

I went to Jazz Bistro for dinner this past Saturday night with a group of four for the summerlicious menu and the jazz. Both were amazing!

We had...
The goat cheese tart: average but fresh tomatoes and great balsamic reduction.
The Cornish hen: flavourful and crisp skin, medium portion
The bass: the best main dish at the table!
The creme brûlée: amaaaazing!! Best ever.
Lemon tart: standard.
Note, My boyfriend was still hungry and ordered fries, they were also good.

The food here from the regular menu also looked great, and prices were reasonable. However, the 15 dollar charge to everyone's bill means it will add up, especially after a drink each! They did tell us about this charge when we booked out reservation by phone that day however.

Also we were seated at the table closest to the stage, and NOTE, the seats basically touch the stage which is on camera for the two large screen TVs to project the band to the upper floors, so basically you will be on display all night long if you sit here. If this is your thing, great, but wasn't ours and made acting natural a bit hard when you knew your head was about 1 foot wide on 2 TVs just above you!

Also, if you want to see the band, ask for the banquette seats, they were the perfect amount away from the stage, and ask for the first floor seating, because the second storey has no view of the band unless you are directly by the glass railing looking down from the atrium like opening they made.

I would completely recommend this restaurant, especially for an intimate night out the music meant you had to put your heads close together to talk and the interior is dark and moody. Nice wine list and cocktails were decent.
