“Weekend get-away”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

My partner and I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant this past weekend. Eating out can sometimes be a nightmare when one is required to follow a celiac diet, however, the server was knowledgeable of my restrictions and was quite accommodating with substitutions. The food was amazing!!! I would go back again in a heartbeat for the coconut shrimp!
The restaurant, while quaint, was a tad too congested. We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment, however, at times was just too loud due to the compact size of the establishment.

“Staff can make or break a restaurant... this one is broke”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We have frequented Nawlins several times of the years. We will not be rushing back any time soon.
Salt does not have to be the main ingredient in the food. Most of the food we sampled was OK but for the most part, very salty or no flavour at all. Service at the bar or tables is cordial not very friendly and slow.
When there was one issue, no manager could be found and then it was discovered that he/she could not come to talk to us because they were too busy. I am not even sure if one was on duty.
On a bright note the band perform on Saturday evening, THE ALL STAR BOURBON STREET BAND was excellent and very friendly
Perhaps the staff and management could take a point or two in hospitality from the band members.
I do not want to paint all staff as indifferent, as some seemed quite efficient and friendly but the tow that we interacted with the most just seemed to strongly dislike their jobs.

“Great Food, so-so service”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

We have eaten here a few times and everyone has enjoyed their meals, I really enjoyed my Bourbon St. Penne. This is a crowded restaurant, both from being busy and having the tables almost stacked on top of each other. The last time we were there, we were next to the door going down to the basement storage area and one of my party had to move his chair 4 times for people to get by, very poor location for a table. On the other side of our table, another of our party and myself kept banging chairs against the the people directly behind us, they joked about it as did we, but it was bothersome. Each time the server we have had has been good but others in the place were not. The atmosphere is nice, great paintings on the walls, good music and for that they have my compliments.
Long and short of it is; if it was not for the good food, i would never go back

“After dinner fun”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We dropped in here on a whim after dining just down the street at St Tropez; we were looking for someplace lively to have drinks, but didn't want to go to a club or crowded bar. We heard the music from this place off the street and we were drawn in. We only had cocktails, so I can't speak on the food, but the bartender was lovely and attentive, and not at all stingy with her pours! The music was fantastic! About as close as you will get to authentic New Orleans jazz this far north. Reasonable drink prices and walking distance to the Hyatt where we were staying made this a win/win selection.

“Food with a nice Kick”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Four of us were there for dinner and we’re Italian. The food here was very good not to spicy but it had enough kick to satisfy our taste buds.
One of the best for Italian/Cajun food.
Definitely will go there again for more great food.
Ciao.
