We were looking for a restaurant close to the theatre we were going to that night and we came across Patria. Since most of us in our party had never experienced a tapas style restaurant we thought we'd give it a try.

Once our server realized that we didn't know what to order, he asked our likes, dislikes, and any allergies we may have and said he would choose and bring out plates that he thought we may like. Plates started arriving with salads, cheeses, serrano ham, flatbread, shrimp, potatoes, steak, and to finish scrumptious churros. I know there were more plates that I have forgotten but everything was absolutely delicious. There was nothing that we didn't like.

We had an excellent server who made really good choices for us and was very friendly and professional as well. We would definitely return to Patria in the future. It's a little hard to find as it is down an alley way, but really worth the hunt.

Patria is a good restaurant with a lively (and loud) vibe in a cool space. It is conveniently located near downtown and other good Toronto restaurants.

I came here recently for a friend's birthday. Similar to other times I have been here count on....

1. Good wine pairings, yet even better sangria and cocktails. They do a pitcher of Sangria that is a bit more of a value if you have a group.
2. Above average service. Service is respectable, but don't expect to be amazed.
3. Very good tapas plates. They do a particularly good job with beef, ham, cheese plates, and hot peppers. Desserts can be underwhelming.
4. Expensive prices. For what you get, expect tasty food, but like most Toronto places of similar ilk, don't expect value.
5. Fun with friends. This is the place for loud conversations, drinks after work, etc. Come here for fun and entertaining, not anything too serious or formal.
6. You can book large parties here, but beware. If you pre-book, they demand 100% show up. If you commit for 20 people on a Prix fixe and a couple of friends come down with the flu, too bad! Everyone pays for them as well. This was the lesson from my last visit.

Just outstanding. Superb service, excellent food and terrific ambiance. We went for dinner and enjoyed it so much that we took our niece and nephew back two nights later. Try the amazing dates and the bread with tomato and manchego. Loved the chickpea and pork belly, the calamari and the boneless Cornish hen. The Spanish donuts are wonderful. For the four of us with three glasses of cava, two bottles of wine and as much food as we could eat, the bill was $320.00. We will go back next time we are in Toronto.

Although expensive, this is a great place for tapas and other Spanish-style fare. We had a party of three and made a reservation before going. The location was a bit hard to find. Although the restaurant was on King St., it was a bit hidden. But once inside, we found the interior to be quite well done with an atmosphere conducive to a very nice meal. Our server attended to us quickly and their team provided excellent service all evening. We had several tapas before our entrée including the calamari, the chorizo, a serving of cheese, olives and Iberico ham. All of them were very good. I particularly enjoyed the calamari and the chorizo, The sauces with the calamari were excellent. For mains, I had the chickpea stew (cocido madrileños) while my colleagues both had the pork flank steak in a piquillo jam. My main was very good while the pork flank was deemed to be outstanding. I had a small taste and I enthusiastically concurred with that assessment. My colleague had a Mousse De Dulce De Leche Conchocolatey Crema Fresca for dessert. He said this was also terrific. The prices were quite expensive but the quality of the fare provided a compelling justification for what we spent. Overall, while pricey, this place is one of the better Spanish restaurants I have ever experienced.

Tried Patria a couple of weeks ago. It was a nice change from your typical restaurants. We sat on the second floor, nice table but a bit warm all night. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. The paea was excellent as was the rib eye steak. A bit pricey but worth it.
