I went to Crazy Tomato for dinner on a Sat night with my wife. We didnt have any reservation so we had to wait for about 15 to 20 mins. First off, i would like to commend the Manager/Host. He was very welcoming. He personally greeted every guest waiting and made sure that they have been looked after. He even served some samples of freshly baked pizza to the guests while waiting they are waiting to be seated. Service was prompt and food was pretty good considering its not downtown. Pasta were made in-house. Cheaper wine. Good neighborhood restaurant.

We tried the crazy tomato on Christmas eve. It appears recently renovated and was pleasantly warm both in ambience and temperature. Families, couples and larger groups seemed equally at ease. We were met with prompt and friendly service. Truly delicious food arrived soon after our order. It was comforting, and just what we always hope for in an independent Italian eatery. Reasonably priced. Although my wife liked it, I found the house red wine lacking (if i'm forced to say something negative). We as usual took our time and we weren't rushed. Washrooms were spotless. On our way out the manager/ owner shook our hands and thanked us sincerely for coming. Lovely.

Can't wait to go back to this fun and upbeat resto! Great news for the O'Connor/St. Clair neighbourhood. Families are welcome, as are friends and those on 'date nights'. Owner Nunzio greets everyone at the door with a handshake or a hug. Pasta and pizza are delicious--looking forward to trying the mains and the mussels. Good wine list, well priced, quality ingredients. Didn't have dessert but certainly drooled at seeing the lemon cheesecake, which is made in house. Soooo friendly, I really hope this place stays as it will now be our "go to" whenever we feel like a night out!

We have watched this location n our neighbourhood change hands at least 8 times in 10 years. I think the Crazy Tomato is here to stay! Went for dinner on Friday evening and was warmly greeted by Nunzio (owner). Once seated, our waiter Michael was pleasant and attentive to our party of 5. We had the mussels, bruschetta, ceasar salad and calamari for our appetizers. The star of the show was the calamari - by FAR the best, most tender I have ever had in Toronto. The Bruschetta and mussels, also very good - fresh and favourful. Caesar was flavourful but lacked umph - it was just a bowl of romaine, no garnish, crouton or bacon/pancetta. Mains - very reasonably priced and delicious. Braised Beef Paparadelle - outstanding. Special was Penne a la Vodka - also very good. Picky daughter loved her Penne con pollo, no pollo...just the way she likes it. The Pork Medalion was HUGE portion of porchetta, nicely done pork tenderoin with pancetta. Pork on pork on pork :) The winners here are the home made pastas. cooked to perfection and piping hot (everything was). Dessert - tiramisu, made in house. Very good, as were the cannolis. They just need to get the minor details sorted - garnish, proper firing of orders etc. No glaring errors that would stop me from going back, just a few little things they need to work on. Dinner for 5 with drinks under $170. Gave all feedback to the owner who was genuinely interested and wants to continue to improve this new venture. Will definitely return for the beet salad (they were sold out) pizzas (looked and smelled wonderful) and lamb speidini. A Neighbourhood hit!

since opening this place has boomed , a fresh new exciting restaurant in East York between O'Connor and Victoria park....in a building that their worse problem is overcoming the bad reviews of several predecessors ...and they sure have done it....already line ups to get in open evenings only . Pasta and pizza is very good and service top notch but by some servers a bit too "syruppy" which I hate in any restaurant..the phoney voice and attitude. worth a try I highly recomend it
