Description: The Bar Hop is a craft beer bar that offers 36 taps with rotating choices & 2 on Cask, one off brews and seasonal selections. In bottle we have close to 100 options including harder to find and private orders. This is complemented by a full bar including a healthy selection of choice brands of Tequila, Bourbon, & Single Malt Scotch. Our food complements the beverages well with homemade style dishes of upscale pub fare. Wrap this into a comfortable environment with knowledgeable and friendly staff for a casual evening in the downtown entertainment district of Toronto

“Amazing beer selection (and good food too!)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

Had dinner with a friend at Bar Hop last Saturday along with a couple of pints. First time at this place (my friend is a regular) and I loved it. Too many pubs have the same typical imports and a couple token domestics plus one or two 'micro-brews'. This place is almost all micro-brews on tap (plus crazy list of bottles) with tonnes of choice. We liked it so much that we came back later the same night for more beer! I had the salad at dinner (with goat cheese, bacon and other things) and it was very yummy and a light meal by itself. Pricing for everything is quite reasonable. Service at the bar and at the table was also top-notch. Can't wait for another excuse to visit Toronto just to come back.

“Hoppy Beer Heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

Visited during a business trip in the city.
The beer selection on tap is second to none for sampling new beers.
Try the Muskoka Mad Tom IPA... awesome!
The staff were very helpful and attentive and they know their stuff when it comes to beer.
The atmosphere was top notch and the food was tasty too - try the tempura meatballs.. mmm.

“Fun place for beers!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

We went here for a few beers after being out for dinner. We read good things so wanted to check it out. The beer list was long and it was nice to have so many choices on tap & bottle. It's not very big but the service is laid back and so is the bar itself.
A great spot to go with friends and/or couples looking for a spot before/after dinner. We didn't eat there but the food at the tables around us looked delicious.

“The son outshines the father...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2012

***This bar appears to be double-listed, so this review also appears under "barhop bar".***

This bar/resto is an offshoot of the Smokeless Joe's beer bar (which itself recently relocated out of this neighbourhood). And as much as I liked the previous place, Barhop far outshines it. 25 or so taps, mostly local, adorn this nicely decorated bar - with plenty of bar seating, a few tables and a mini-patio. The vibe is low-key and super-friendly and the staff is very knowledgeable. They even keep a couple of cask-engines going for real ale enthusiasts.
Beer is the reason you're here. And for beer, this place is exceptional - fresh, perfectly poured into the correct glassware, and with a great variety of styles. The selection is among the best in the city. Again the real focus is on Canadian craft brewing, with the occasional Belgian thrown in. Much of the beer is from Ontario, though Quebec is also well represented. And it's not all heavy stuff - they also feature wheat beers, saisons and other lower-alcohol brews.
The kitchen is pretty much a carry-over from Smokeless Joe's with a few more traditional entrees added in. It's generally fine - and hey, who doesn't like a schnitzel or a bowl of mussels when they're drinking beer? But you're not here for the food. It's the beer that makes it worth the trip.
